Also the rain came in and the burn ban was lifted so while I had the chance I went ahead and burned a huge brush pile off. The one I worked on today was 10-12ft high 30 ft wide and 70 or so feet long. Needless to say my help stacked it but it still took a while to burn it all even with the tractor to help. Think I might just have to make a round during the week to make up for not going tonight. I'll see if Daisy continues her streak of getting treed before Kitty does. I'll try to get more pics but like I've said before I'm more worried about training.

Hey man I'm ready to hit the woods again. It's my long week so only off wed and I have training Thursday during the day but sure don't mind going for a couple hours one night if you want to try. I think the weather will be cooler than it was last time we went and the moisture should have them out and about.

Lady from the Daisy x Barnyard Horse Harry cross I thought was trailing on the first track and had it confirmed on the second track. She was checking trees along with hunting out very well. I'll need to get a collar on her pretty soon. My buddies blue pup took off and was trailing and checking trees. Both of these are sure looking nice to only have been out a couple of times and with just a little working at the house. Both of these could tree a hot coon without much problem in the wild I believe now. This Daisy x Harry litter has sure been something special. I can't wait to see how these do once they have a kill season on them after seeing the way they are doing so far with very little work, for the most part.

Would have loved the pups to finish working their tracks but probably was just a little tough for them. Hopefully we can get them on that coon this weekend. Had a blast but sure could have done without them trailing through the thicket.

However, I had to go into to the ER yesterday. I physcially couldn't get out of bed yesterday had to have my wife dress me. I was completely locked up. Dr. has put me on orders to sit at the house for over a week. Basically, I'm not supposed to do a thing for the whole time. Just sit here and relax and hope that it'll get better. I tell ya what if you want to go. If you'll come over Sat. night then I could let ya load up the dogs and then I could drive over there and let you hunt them while I wait in the truck and could then help ya figure out how to get them if they run off from ya. If nothing else we could get the one pooping in my deer stand.

I will but man is it hard. Got the time, the money, the woods and the hounds to hunt 5 to 6 nights a week and can't go becuase of getting messed up over there. I can't even bass or fly fish from having to cast to much. Not being able to coonhunt or bass fish, like I want, which is the two main things I like to do outdoors is about to kill me. Hopefully, the Dr's figure this out becuase I'm not far at all from not even being able to teach. That's about the only thing I really like to do, outside of the church, I have left. If that goes without them fixing me that's going to be a big life change for me. I just started working on getting my 100% disability now. I'm hoping they will let me stay on the can work disabilty, not put me on can't work too disability, then maybe I can find a school that even if I can't teach would be willing to hire me on as a half day teacher and do that until I can't even go half a day and then quit teaching. Sure glad I got some people who help me hunt these old hounds so at least they can see the woods, even of they don't do the competitions. For me it has been and will always be what's best for the dogs not the titles, eventhough they do look nice.

I've had this a little while but just haven't fooled with the scanner to get it on here. GrNtCh Yellow River Rocky had the next to the last litter from this guy. Almost waited to late and if Harry hadn't been nice enough to pick her up for me and keep her for 3 months it never would have happened. Good friends and good people have sure been good to me in this breed. Without them like I've said before I wouldn't have a thing. Shoot the one I started most everything I have now was given to me as a young hound and I was a young kid.

Got hit in the head by a farm gate that the wind caught knocked me to the ground and caused my right arm to become immobilized. I couldn't even move it but about 3 inches in any direction. Got a concussion and after waiting several days ended up getting a steroid shot that finally loosened it up enough to move some but it sure hurts. Man do I need this surgery and quick before I can't do a thing. Stinks having to have somone to drive for ya. Man do I want to hit the woods.

Well still going to have to order some of the things I was looking to get due to the actual store not having it and the shipping building were everything is stored closed at 3. I did pick up another collar light so we can see what the pups are up to. Hopefully I can make it back in time Sunday to possibly go if not we will for sure try and go one day next week.

Well got some good news in some ways bad in others I guess. Got the info from the second opinion on my neck today that looks like it saying that they don't see anything in there either. So that's nixed that one out.
Was at the VA today and found out some good news that I don't need neck sugery but that I actually have a muscle that has went all haywire from when I had all the issues with my neck. The muscle that connects my shoulder blades has quit working causing the muscles on the top of my shoulders to over work themselves since they don't have the supporting muscles. This happens to be the muscle that connects from my neck to my shoulders. The top part is what is inflamed causing it to pull on my shoulders but mainly my neck. This then had all the nerves going out my arms shut off and is making my arms lock on top of locking up my neck from the stress on my neck. The Dr. said I was one of the worst cases he had, which is saying something for all the ones they see at the VA. Well anyway he gave me a huge shot of novocaine in the inflamed muscle and guess what I could move my arms and neck for the first time in a long time. I don't know how many days this will last but at least I know the problem now. The Dr. said it would take at least 6 months of steady rehad to build the muscles back up to where it would solve the issue if it wasn't so bad that it wouldn't heal. So I'm glad I don't need the neck surgery but it looks like I've got a good long road ahead to get back to going. Thanks for the prayers looks like I'll need em and prayers have already been answered by me at least finding out what is going on.

Would have called and tried going last night but we didn't get back from Fayettville till on into the evening so by the time we had supper and got unpacked it was time to get things ready for work.

Now that I know some of what not to do. Sure hope that rehab gets me to where I can hit the woods more. Daisy needs some heavy one on one time so I can get her squared away and rolling.

Well Lady from the Daisy x Harry cross is looking good. She's only been to the woods about 3 or 4 times now and she is trailing real well, opening on track pretty decent and more each time we go, and treeing some too. If not for my wife running off with my camera I'd have some pics. She ran on all the tracks we hit last night and was sticking with the old dogs most all the way. She loves to hunt. She was winding around at the first tree and while I was trying to find the coon in a woolly mess of trees and vines apparently he crawled out right next to where Lady was winding him. Guess I should have paid more attention to the pup. She then led the old dogs out off the tree to run him on out of there. She's still yet to get some fur in her mouth other than one turn loose in the yard when she was just 6 months old and that's what most of mine thrive on. Plan to take her about an hour away to some woods with plenty of coon this weekend in the bottoms and see if we can't rain some coon on her.

The Kitty x Dozer female named Ann is doing well too. I hadn't been able to hunt her and Lady was doing better so, I sent her to a friend of mine that's pretty good with getting pups going, trained him myself. Since I can't hunt much, he took her on, hunted her a good bit, put some fur in her mouth, got her jumped on by a few to get her fired up, and she's rolling on along and pretty well ready to be singled out by herself. I was about to the point of selling her but she hadn't really had a chance. Sure glad I didn't sell her and had her hunted before I sold her. I think she's here to stay now too.

I had my wife help me hook up the trailer and load up the four wheeler several days ago. I had planned to go then but the other day when I was trying to load them Kitty tried getting out over Daisy and they pulled me the wrong way, had me locked up for a few days. Well I let it rest up and was planning on going tonight. Had my wife help me load the hounds and got to go. I tried calling a few, one was sick, the other was working. So I went by myself. Drove about an hour away to the river bottoms. Well got to the woods to start the night dropped out in a 20 ft deep creek that ended up being bone dry. Turned Daisy, Kitty, and then Lady loose. Well Kitty dissappeared and then Lady. Daisy was just tearing it up all around me, she was gone and then after a while would come back. Well I never saw Kitty or Lady. We didn't strike so I tried calling them in and Daisy was the only one I got. About the time I got Diasy in the box I could hear something in the wind. Then I could tell it was Lady then it almost sounded like another hound too. Well I pulled out the tracker and sure enough it was both of them. Well I ended up driving 2 miles to get near them and then walking another 2/3rds of a mile to get to them from there. By this time I could tell Kitty and Lady were treeing. Not bad to have a hound that has only been to the woods about 5 times and under a year old go like that. This litter sure has been special. While I was trying to get closer I could even hear Lady over the 4-wheeler she is sure getting a mouth on her the prettiest sounding hound I've ever owned and volume to spare. Ended up I was hearing her at over 2 miles straight thru the woods in thick timber. Well by the time I got there it was about 2 1/2 hours from when I turned loose and they had been treeing for 45 minutes that I knew of, Lady had quit treeing but she was there and Daisy went in to help out at about a half mile. I ended up seeing over 10 deer going into the tree and back Daisy almost ran into one but none of the dogs ran them at all. Lady walked right past 3 of them without messing with them. Anyway when I got to the tree after a good bit of shooting up in amongst em at the coon that wouldn't show but bits and pieces of his eye I got him. He ended up getting a piece of each hound too. Well with my restrictions this guy had me weighted out. For down here this is a big coon. So I leashed up the old dogs and went back. Pretty good night, in nice open woods, without any mess ups, just what I needed. Crazy thing was they were treed across a swamp that has been there so long there are no trees in it and the side water is so deep I'd never even seen it, just knew it was there. It's so dry I walked straight across it and barely seen any water. Well anyways here he is.

out to hunt. Dozer is doing a bang up job on coon here in the north. He sure is doing good for the limited amount of coonhunting he has done. He can take the old tracks and fly. He is such a gentle dog also. He is 70 pounds of muscle and doesnt need the leash and when he is leashed he doesnt pull at all. We really like the big guy and he sure is a pleasure to hunt. He no longer quiets down when we get to the tree and really pounds it. We are either going to breed him or get him collected or both. He still has never ran anything but coon or bear and wont touch anything else. Thinking about putting him in a few nitehunts but not real sure yet. Will finish him into a grand. ch. most likely for sure though. I just cant get into the nitehunts and to me its a waste of money. He has nothing to prove to anyone and titles dont mean squat to me anyway. Will get some new pics fo ya soon. Be good and take care.

Yeah I'm hoping to be at it regular in a few months. Right now this physical therapy has got me pretty sore but when you're using muscles that have been shut down for 2 years that's to be expected. They think that when my neck had my nerves pinched off then it cut off the use of my shoulder blade muscles. That caused other muscles to not work right and was over working them causing me to get locked up. The physical therapist said I probably wouldn't be back to anywhere near 100% but that it appears the way things are going so far that I should be back to functioning pretty well. Time will tell. One things for sure I'm staying on doing the exercises like they tell me to cuase I want to hit those woods way more than once a week. By the way kind of got some things running around on who to breed Kitty to next. Right now I'm thinking Stillwater Chase, Midnite Haze (as an outcross) or Shorty. Some of that may depend on how well I can get around too. Anyway Shorty is definately up there, same kind of go a little more tree, sounds pretty good to me.

Dave man, Wow is it good to see you back on here!
Glad to here he's doing so well. If I can get straightened out might have to bring him down here and get at least a NtCh title on him and bring him back to ya. now that he does pull like a Dozer. My wife was trying to leading even the ones I still have and was yanking them all around to get them to act right and was wanting to know why they weren't leading like they should. I told her well I sure can't yank em like that I won't be able to move. Dogs just need someone to show them how to do right. I know that but right now can't do much about it. If I get to where I can go I've got to get Daisy a NtCh title first but she is having a time as dry as it is around here. Seems like when It's this dry that the scent doesn't travel in the air as well for her catching those lay-ups. That's where she really shines and without that she's more like a regular hound. I sent the female I kept out of Dozer and Kitty to be hunted she picked it right up. She's doing it all just needs to be hunted by herself now after just a couple of months hunting. You talk about cover the woods that female will do it. Well anyway good to see ya back!

When is your Christmas Break from school? I work wed and Thursday of next week then will head north to the in laws Friday thru Sunday morning. I'll be off Christmas eve and day then the following wed and thurs so if you wanna try and go one day the week of Christmas let me know. I need to get this pup on some coons
