Darren i 'm already making room in my kennel for this pup. Judge / BB both have good track mouths, good locates, and not bad tree dogs. the night we hunted them together they performed good together. They really like each other as of yesterday. Should be a really good cross. Thank Ya'll for picking Judge.

Hunt

Hunted by myself tonight. Took Cotton and Cy. Andy is still out of commission with the toenail he ripped out. He ain't liking it one bit though. First drop Cy opened left handed at about 100 yds. Cotton opened deeper at about 175 yds. Cotton took her track to the creek and crossed it. She soon let out her screaming locate and locked down. It was a den with a willow tree growled up thru it and I couldn't get it to look. Cy came into the tree and I caught him up too. I recut and Cotton opened about 200 yds in the botyom and started a feed track. She worked it about 700 yds and loaded up treed. I drove around and walked about 300 yds to her. Cy was opening on the creek. She had the coon. Got him to look by beating on the tree and backing up. I went to the truck and Cy came on out. Not his best night but he wants to be independent and is being selfish right now about backing a dog. I cut one more time but ended up catching them coming up a ditch on the backside of the section I where I cut them. Thunder in the distance and all day mowing and weed eating told me to call it a night and feed these mongrels. Y'all keep'em Lookin up!! Darren

HUNT

Drake , My Nephew Griffin and Myself went for a little while last night. I took Cotton and Cy. Griffin brought his pup. We cut Cy and griffins pup loose on a feeder and they struck pretty quick. Cy went about 100 yds and loaded up treed. MAN he is nice to hear tree!! He is an every breath tree dog. He had 2 up one tree. Hot coon but I like what I see in his progression. He is 8 mths old now. Next drop we cut the two pups and Cotton in the bottom. Cotton struck a track but it wasn't too good. She worked it about 400 yds in the bottom. Things got bogged down a little but she hushed and skipped out about 150 yds. Cy gave me a locate and treed. He didn't sound right but we walked into see what he had going. He was in a small beaver pond winding and checking several trees. He would go back to that same area and look up and start locating and treeing. He just couldn't locate the coon. We looked around but didn't see anything sitting up. Cotton soon located and treed. We went to her and she was on a huge den tree. We called it a night and rolled in at about 12:20 am. Finally got my video of Andy to upload. This was last week before he tore off his toenail. He went over a mile down the creek and treed in the middle of a cow pasture that had 3 of these huge water oaks growing there together. He had the meat and had been treed for about 45 minutes when I got to him. Darren

Darren, Andy really sounding good on that big oak. Gotta love it when they take a track that far and put him up.
Sounds like Cy is coming along great for an 8 month old pup. I like to see the young ones develop night after night. Frustrating sometimes but the good ones that come along from time to time make those bad nights a distant, faint memory. Take care and Good Hunting!

HUNT

Went by myself last night. First drop I cut Andy and Cy. Andy had torn out his toenail and I wasn't going to hunt him for a couple weeks but he has been pitching a fit wanting to go. He held up pretty good last night and I didn't see any visible limping. Andy struck a track and Cy opened just left of him. Andy worked in about 200 yds and loaded up treed. I started to him and Cy located and treed. I got to Cy and he was milling some but soon loaded back up on a big cluster of Bay trees. I leashed him up and went on to Andy. Both trees were hard to shine and I couldn't find either coon. Cy shows early signs of being a loner. He likes to do his own thing. Time will tell how he will develop. Next drop I cut Cotton and Andy loose. Cotton struck and Andy soon put in with her. They moved the track out good and Cotton blowed up on a tree, immediately followed by Andy. I didn't realize they were in a big patch of cutover. Briars and hedge bushes don't go well with a sleeveless t-shirt!! I finally got to them and they were treed on the edge of a small pond with several big trees left around it in the middle of the cutover. I waded out in the pond and soon spotted their coon pretty easy. I gathered the dogs up and by the time I got to the truck it was 11:30 so I called it a night. Goin after them again tonight. HUNT

Hunted by myself last night. I took Cotton and Andy. I cut them together in a bottom with hardwood hills to the left and a small creek to the right. They left out hard and Cotton struck in at about 300yds. Andy opened soon after and they were on a good track. They worked the track pretty quick into the bottom and turned left up in the hills. It wasn't long til I heard Andy locate and Cotton almost hit it at the same time. They treed good and I made my way into the tree. They had the meat and I petted them up and made my way to the truck. Been a long week and I called it a night and fed the dogs. Stilll didn't get home til 11:00. This is a rough time of the year to hunt. Blackberries will be ready soon and the fun will begin!! I usually look like I been in a fight with a wildcat. I can't stand the long sleeve shirts this time of the year so I end up wading the briars in a t-shirt. Oh well , bring it on!! CH Pr Southern Blue Dolley

Trent Widner has had Dolley at his place for the past few weeks. He has been hunting her and has made her a SHOW CH with 1 win towards GRCH. NO BREAKS

Hunted Andy in a UKC hunt hunt last night. Drew a 4 dog cast. Andy needs to fire me as a handler. Andy got first strike and started a track. The other dogs put in with him. They worked about 400 yds in bottom and Andy located along with the walker dog and I jumped on it. Mistake!! They moved on down bottom and Andy loaded up right. I treed him and the other 3 backed him. Coon seen. Walker winning cast with 150. I got 100. We cut again and it started pouring rain. 2 dogs came out and were handled. Andy struck in followed by walker. They got deep and we were walking to try to stay within hearing. Walker got treed but couldn't find his coon. Andy had moved over big hill. We moved up the hill and guy with walker had lost his garmin. Me and one cast member walked down old logging road and hear Andy treed. We go to him but neither of the other cast members come in to tree. Andy has a big coon in a poplar tree. We finally go back to truck and two cast members are sitting in truck to stay out of rain. We tell them Andy had a coon and they said I should have walked 500 yds back to the truck and got one of them. Andy treed the two coons we seen and I still got beat!!! Oh well, I know one thing for sure and that is when Andy and I get on the same page we will be bringing home the win slips.
