Smoke pups are getting it done!

I took Swag out last night by himself to tune him for this weekend's RQE. We got around 4 inches of rain yesterday and it was drizzling when we cut him loose. He struck a cold track and worked it for about 30 minutes about 800 yards total and treed by himself and had the coon despite the weather.

I apologize for the picture quality but all we had was the trusty cell phone. We're going to get some better pictures once the weather improves.

Hunting has been good lately just hot. We have hit some long tracks lately which is somewhat odd for this time of year. Cherrys are starting to grow and maybe the coons are looking for a change of diet?

Swag is looking good and we have been hunting him almost entirely by himself. We hunted some pups last night early then took Swag out and cut him loose around midnight. He got struck pretty quick and coldnosed a track last night for nearly half a mile. It took him probably 45 minutes to work the track but when he treed he had the coon! Not many UKC hunts going on around here but we are planning on pushing him in a few $ hunts over the summer. I hope everything is going well with ya'll!!

Thanks Mike- He's making a good one for sure. We aren't pushing him in the hunts very much but we are getting him in the woods. He's doing what he's bred to do! We went for a short hunt last night- It's been so hot and near 100% humidity here that it's been just plain miserable. He slipped off from the other dogs last night and treed another. He's consistent and is going to go until he makes something happen. By this fall, he will be hitting his prime. It should be interesting!

I hope ya'll are doing well and getting in the woods. I hope it's been cooler up there then it has down here.

Swag picked up another win this weekend and now has one win towards Grand Nite Champion. He is 19 months old and about 85 lbs. He's proven to be a consistent cast winner and has won 6 out of the 7 casts he's been in. He's going to make a nice dog when he grows up.

Swag is doing well in the summer heat. I've never had a dog in 15 years of huntin that has caught them on the ground like he does. He's caught three this year and two in the last two weeks!

He's performing pretty well. I put another win on him last night towards GrNtCh in some tough company. He now has two wins towards GrNtCh. The future looks bright!

I hope everything is well with ya'll and that you're getting out in the woods. The corn is up down here and they are hitting it hot and heavy. Hope to see ya'll soon!

Just wanted to touch base with you all since I haven't talked with ya'll lately.

Swag is doing fantasic. He's back to his old self. He has been treeing coons left and right by himself. This was the first one of the season that opened the 15th of Oct.



We went last night and he treed a double.



He has a BIG gear, very independent, accurate and is freakishly loud. I Love it! He turns 2 next month.
