Just wanted to thank you again for giving me the chance to start and hunt this male pup out of Gauge and 6 Pack. He's got along ways to go but after spending an hour plus with him in the garage,I see Gauge in a big way so I called him the same for now. He sure does like the way I cook them chicken breast, ate 2 of them!! LOL!!Looks like I'm going to have to go back to the old training style with no net and see how it goes. He certainly is a likable youngster and fills my needs for the coon season this fall if he has what it takes for me to spend my time with. You know me well enough that most don't cut the cheese here to often, sure hoping this one does! I'm taking a liking to him already! I just love that beyond huge mouth he has and his looks I like as good as my wifes when I first met her 38 years age!! That's looks for ya!! I'll promise ya this,if this young hound has the tools, know one better than Danny G. to get it out of him and I'll give it my all! NET or no Net!! LOL!!Thanks again,Danny G.

New youngster Pics!! Gauge II ???

This male youngster is as green as grass or the green on a 1 dollar bill! Absolutely knows nothing and never really had a chance until Kevin and I came to terms with him! I know Kevin has been really busy such as I but my time is going to free up real soon! This youngster has never had a collar on him until Kevin put one on him before he came down. Thiers alot of things on the to do list before a youngster is ever hunted and I have lots to do but I believe he'll be fine! Sure acts good for being such a short time and I have given him the welcome treatment as I always do with new arrivals here at the kennel! He has everything going for him but lacks any known knowledge about what a coon is, not alone treeing one at his age. It's going to be a project for me and going back to my old school training but I believe if it's in him,I can bring it out! He's bred right, has a beyond huge mouth, looks to spare and most important, out of Gauge and my color likings!Blues!!Sure hope he gets me fired up in a good way, soon to be 10 months old! Later and thanks,Danny G.

Gauge and Mad Dog Tree Rockin Robin pup

Hanna just turned 7 months old and will get gone every drop, when treed right on good track she can blow it down. Has a lot of potential, hoping to have her ready for fall baby stakes.

Kevin

Got around to huntin Gauge II tonite with Ron Jackson. We managed to get a coon up a tree with Ron's older female. Bad ole track but Gauge did get a bit fired up from what coon scent he could smell around the tree. Did what was needed and then cut him by hisself aound some corn fields. We turned up along an edge of a field where 2 dens are and he took off up the field edge and we shined our lights up the edge and 2 skunks came running out of that field and you know what happened from there!! Nope, never messed with them and went to the corner and got struck on a track and started running it so we eased on up to the corner,he was 131 yards away and still opening on the track so we moved in some and waited. Sure enough he started locating up and choppin some so I told Ron let's just go in to him! Sure enough he treed a double,2 grinners in the same tree! Made me smile!! LOL!!Not bad for his first time being hunted in the wild and blue yonder by hisself. Actually, his first nite of hunting period other then when I turned a coon loose for him which he didn't find! Now that he's done that by hisself, more nites to come solo soon!! Later,Danny G.

RAIN

This is a video of my pup RAIN out of GAUGE X ALICE. Friday I had a coon in a trap setting up on my tractor fender and Rain caught wind of him and treed up the tractor tire. She has not been shown a coon at all. Friday night my young hound BO treed a boar coon that I put out to him and Saturday morning I laid a 100yd trail with coon through the woods and cut RAIN loose. She found and treed it within a couple minutes. This video was took as soon as I got to tree. No encouragement used to get her treeing like this, all natural. She turned 4 months old Saturday.

News update!!! Gauge II trees his first coon at 11:05 on 9-7-2014
Older, track out of the corn, didn't say much until he came treed. 3 huge locates and went to choppin! Tickled me to death. Hunted early and just couldn't hit a coon track for some reason. He finished well and hunted out to 328 yards at his furthest point. Kept active all nite! I'll post a vid later! So far so good,Danny G.

First coon!

Gauge II Maybe!!

Hunted him again tonite. Didn't hunt as hard but did get out and stayed busy and managed to tree another coon tonite! Treed up solid and did a real nice job. I did something I normally don't do when hunting young pups and that is blow on a coon squaller but I did and found this coon. Gauge never missed a bark and paid no attention to the squaller. Just kept on treeing.I'm impressed with how natural this pup is as far as treeing coon. He's gonna start making me put my boots on a bit more if he keeps this up.
Been a while sense I've had that feeling with a male pup. He has what I'm looking for so far,now it's just a matter of putting him in the timber and see how everything progresses as far as hunt and drive, tracking ability, looks like the tree is there for sure! Thanks Kevin for sending him down,Danny G.

Hunted Gauge tonite

He did a real nice job on a coon. I called Kevin so he could hear him treed up. For 5 nites of hunting ,this pup sure shows to be a natural. Real nice locate, trees steady,60 or so barks per minute, and likes to get treed for all the more he's been hunted. It's going to be interesting to see how he progresses as he gets hunted more. I had to lay him up for a few days,he ran a thorn in his pad,got him on atibiotics and now he's good to go again.Later,Danny G.
