Tim, I've finally started the two females off turk x jude this week. They have ran free during the day before and a few nights when I couldn't find them.
Anyhow, Daisy went Tues. w/Rowdy night for three dumps. Didn't say anything on first track but treed a little, but it was a rough track. 2nd ditch struck first and treed hard had coon. 3rd ditch ran a decent track ended in den.
Ruby had 2 dumps with Jude. She doesn't say as much on track and trees real nice, had both.
This makes 4 I own ought of turk by 3 different females and all seem to be on the right track.
Are you going to stover tomorrow? If rowdy's eye isn't swollen I'll be there.... Take care, Damon

The young dogs that you have are not the only ones from those litters that will get the job done.

Mr. Tim I just wanted to stop in and let you know a little about my Turk pup (Cadence). Yesterday I had to go down to the river to do some work, so I took the oppurtunity to give Cadence his first ride to the woods since coming here. Well anyway when I got him out of the box he ran around in the woods like he had been there before, but the big shocker to me was when I got down to the river he hit that son of a gun like he was part fish. I've had problems with grown dogs hitting the water and not wanting to swim, so for a 4 mos old pup to act like that ....wow... I know some people will think that this is nothing to get excited about, but that will make training and hunting so much easier for me when I don't have to get them adjusted to hunting around these river-backwater conditions. Time to get him on some coon now!!!

Cheyenne, I have a feeling that it is just the beginning for you two. Our young hounds have been easy to train. The natural ability is no doubt there. The most impressive thing to me is how smart they seem to be. This bloodline is bred for allot of strengths but the brains in these pups has impressed me. They are easy keepers. Good Luck! This young dog has run loose on the farm all of his life and is ready to go to the woods. Johnny has Ole Kit and 4 young dogs and can't hunt them all and still keep his girlfriend happy. Something has to go so he is cutting back on the young dogs. Camo is sired by John II and his mother is Johnny's NT CH Kit female (4 wins towards GR NT). Don't let the price scare you, he is not a cull........Tim

Paul got a call today from Mr Clark in Maine. Mr Clark picked up a Joker pup from us at the Nationals, the pup was ready for the woods. Mr Clark really likes him and said that he has already treed 5 coon for him and is a stay put tree dog.
......Mad-Dog pups start quick and are fun to hunt........Tim

Robin is starting to put it togather, hunted her with Froggie and had a bad break. Robin started a track and treed it but pulled to Froggie on a tree about 50 or 60 yards away. Froggie's tree was slick but Robins had the coon. If she keeps looking like she did the other night I will be hunting her by herself next week.

Smoke is doing fair for a dog that hasn't been hunted for close to a year and a half. He just needs to get in shape and have the dust blown off him. He looks real good some nights, good some nights and pretty sorry some nights. I will feel better when he gets a little more consistent.

Sounds like Robbin is doing good since her trip to the farm. Now all she needs from you is a whole lot of sleepless nights........Tim

Looks like she has the right Idea. This is not just a John II thread, I welcome info on all Mad-Dogs. One of the reasons that the Mad-Dogs have survived for so many years is because we promote bloodlines not just individual stud dogs. For most individuals when their stud dog is gone so are they........Tim

We had a heck of a rain storm come through yesterday, it rained so hard that the overflow pipe on my pond could not handle the water and it went over the pond dam, I guess the creek will have plenty of fish in it now. I checked my rain gauge today and had 4 3/4 in in the last 24 hrs(most of that yesterday afternoon). We needed some rain but not that much...........Tim
