Took Misfire and Max and had a pretty good hunt last night before it got cut short due a dead battery in the Ranger. Made 5 trees and seen 4 coons and den. Couple nice chases and couple lay ups in big oaks, seems everything was on the move early last night.

We have decided on what we will breeding Misfire too in the upcoming months, around mid-February. We re going to breed her too Tuna Valley Bubba and hope for a few females in the litter. Working on details with Keith to make this happen. I feel both the owners of Bubba and Misfire did their home work and both should hold up their end. Here is what the pedigree will look like. Pups will UKC performance and PKC Super Staked.

Took a young one last night along with Misfire and had a pretty descent hunt. Made 5 trees and out of the 5 trees we had one slick, 1 den and 3 coons with one being in a small cedar that went into a very big pine tree, he made the mistake of looking!On the hound side the young one acted a little stupid last night and Misfire tore one of her toenails completely off and dont have a clue how that happened but it is gone, bleeding was real bad and had to get the gel out and coat it real good, got it stopped but what a mess.

Took Riptide and a 5 month old male pup tonight and so far so good. So far we have made two trees and one was a double and the other a single. Had to reach out to tree both as one was about 900 yards and the other almost a mile section but we are at least treeing some coons tonight. So far the pup has been out of the action. Just hope too hit a few a little closer. Pups first night but not stupid stuff, they last longer when they just act like they have some brains!

About time to start hitting it again. We always let the deer hunters have their time and try to keep piece between all the hunters. Will start hitting it again in certain spots until deer gun season is out. I know some area's have closed coon season while deer season is in, hope it never happens here.

We are out tonight with Misfire and Rock and 6 month old pup out of Riptide and Bella and so far not a great night. First dump Misfire covered 1.7 miles prior to hitting and track, she ran it about 450 yards and treed nice one along a river bank. Next dump hit right at mile and ran about 575 yards and treed in a root wade along the river. Rock is going some and sure likes to get in the mix, but when you come back you set the action out. Rock is getting use to the Ranger , shooting and other things so now he just has to connect all the dots!

Riptide is a 2018 UKC Performance Sire. We will also have a few litters that will also be UKC Performance and PKC Super Staked. One cross that will be S.S. will be early May time frame if things work out.

Hunted last night and we took Riptide, Misfire and Rock. Had too cover a lot of ground the first dump to tree but Riptide treed about 900 yard west of us and Misfire got treed North when we went to Riptide, he had a double. Loaded up and went to Misfire as she got treed when we went to Riptide tide, she had one a large den on the outside. Made another dump and Riptide and Misfire treed right at the mile marker and both had large dens, called it a night as was a little chilly and the pup needed some action a little closer. Temp. should be on the rise next week, or at least we are hoping. Cold snap has lasted way too long for the old bones!

Well we went ahead and got our rooms for Bluetick days in Iowa. Planning on being up there mid day on the 17th and heading back on the 20th. Had too go ahead and fit it into my vacation time slot and Corey needed time to work his in as well, he is working 12 on 2 off so a few days with Blueticks and friends will be good time. Hope for a good turn out and last but not least good weather!

Went for a short hunt after the ball game last night and did tree a few. Had to cover lots of ground but Misfire got in there and got treed at about 875 yards and finally treed one. Next dump not much better and but did hit at around 700 yards and treed another double. Not doing the pup much good right now as he is not at that range yet and do not like just walking into the tree and poping it out for them, they have to earn a little of it. Fog was starting to get real heavy and hard to shime the last tree we made. Seen lots of deer lst night, must be getting ready for the storm rolling in.

Matt, Rock's thrid time in the woods and his second coon has made some major changes. Rock left on the run with Misfire last night and Misfire struck at about 450 yards and Rock charmed in, about another 300 yards Misfire treed and Rock gave a big old locate and started treeing, Rock has a real nice mouth!! Buy the time we just about got to them we had to go back and around due to the river. When we got there he was still treeing as the coon was in the bottom of a den and both Rock and Misfire was really getting after that old coon. They did not get him out but let me tell you they were worked up. We recasted them and in about 250 yards they hit and treeing pretty quick and had a double in a big old den, Corey seen it and I did not. Blew the squaller and one coon shot up the tree and the second stuck his head out. Rock dove in like he knew what he was to do! Last dump they hit and treed a big den and we called it a night. For Rocks third time out and only having 2 coons knocked out he has stated out real nice. Rock never came in once all night, ran and treed on all trees so overall I feel pretty darn lucky once again! I have never hung a coon up for Rock or even mess with him on a cage coon due to the bad weather we were having. Rock is 7 months old and has already beat the 9 month old time frame!! Was too late to get the pictures and video but will get the posted tonight.

Got the hounds out tonight and put on their new SERESTO collars due to seeing two ticks the other night already. Wormed them and looked them over and they checked out good, besides a little fat. Been making Rock stand on the bench some to get him to calm down, have to have manners to stay around here, he is to the point he pretty well just stands there like and old dog now. The picture of the den was Rocks first tree and his third trip, ran and tree pretty darn good on all three the other night with Misfire. Started the fastest of any pup I have had, he just has to keep it going, little steps each trip in the right direction!

Never seen the ticks out in force like I have already this year. Still cold and snowing and ticks?? I went all out this year and bought the Brovecto pill for all the hounds, suppose to be good for three months and have the Seresto colllars on all of them. Had one get sick from the ticks and do not plan on a having another.
