You know God is so good to us. We all have so much to be thankful for. We all need to be praising his name today. I seen on TV where S. Carolina IS going to be putting a Christian license plate out that says "I Believe" and has a cross in front of some stained glass. Well a law suit has been filed and the plates are being held up over the legal issues. I feel like right now is the time for Christians to stand up and stop letting the world dictate to us our religious freedoms. Everybody has religious freedom except Christians. But praise God that even 2000 + years after Christ death that he still intimidates people just by his very name being said. Well you all have a blessed day and lets start standing up. The next time someone tells you happy holidays ask which holiday they think we are celebrating? and when they reply Christmas, make sure you explain that Christmas is no holiday but a birthday celebration for the Saviour was born on Christmas and inform them that they have offended you and you prefer to be told Merry CHRISTmas.

Just to follow up on Ron's post alittle. You know that as a married couple we are suppose to love each other as Christ loved the church. Now that is a beautiful thing when you think about it. How can you do each other any wrong as long as you are loving each other like Christ loves us? I am so thankful that God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and she is dedicated to serving the Lord and she is truly a blessing to me and my family.

Could you imagine being in Mary's shoes? I mean hear you are a simple peasent girl and the Lord tells you that you will carry the Christ child. How afraid she must have been, how humbleing that must have been, and then how difficult to accept. I love the story of Jesus's birth. I mean he wasn't born in a palace or some place where only the elite could reach him or get to him. INstead he came and was born from a peasent girl in a manger. You know as you read the above verses I believe that one of the most important verses to remember is that with God nothing shall be impossible. Isn't good to know that God loved us that much to send Jesus to die for our sins. Praise God today for all that he does for us. I mean I know alot of people are going thru difficult times right now, but I believe that we all can and should find comfort in the Lord Jesus. God bless and have a wonderful CHRISTmas seanson. Remember who is the reason for the season.

I also have a prayer request today. Last night a young girl age 16 years old lost her life in an automobile accident. She came to my family's house many times and was my cousins closest friend. I know that she was raised in church but I am unsure if she was saved. But I know that God knows what is in somebodies heart and we need to be mindful that God does look at the heart and just saying that we know Christ will not get us to heaven but what our heart says about Christ will. She and her family has been having alot of difficulties and I am very certain that this family has got some real difficult days and nights ahead of them. But I also know that even during our toughest times and times that we don't understand why things happen that God still is in control. I thank God for being in control and having all the answers to lifes problems. But just remember this family in prayer and God bless. Also things like this is why it is so important that we ensure our young people know about Jesus Christ. The family has been blessed 16 wonderful years with this girl and I guess God just needed her back with him. God bless and please remember this family in your prayers today.

Well I hope all of you are ready for Christmas and you and your family enjoy such a glorious time. You know we are truly blessed to live where we live. I mean we can celebrate the birth of our saviour and we don't have to worry about being killed, threaten, or any other type of persecution. So today be in prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are facing death or persecution over celebrating the birth of the saviour Jesus Christ. This year I have really realized just how blessed I am. There is children all throughout this world, our country, your state, and even your own community that will not even recieve a single toy for Christmas. Just be so thankful for what all God has blessed us with. You know the greatest gift that any of us could every recieve is Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and that is free to you and me. Now I know that the world is always going to have poor people in it and we can't help everybody but it doesn't cost us nothing to say something nice to somebody, to give someone a hug and reassure them that it is going to be all right, or to tell the good news of Jesus Christ. Let us remember to show the world what Christmas is all about and to love one another. God bless and I wish you all the very Merriest Christmas that you have ever had. Riverbottom Ron and Patrick,
Thank you so much for reminding me that through Christ ALL things are possible! I have read those words that Ruth Graham wrote in a devotion book that we pray for our husbands but it is God who changes the heart! I needed that reminder. Keep up the good work of daily devotions for coonhunters. You have touched many lives mine in more ways then you know. I have been reading the Psalms (thank you Ron for the kind words and direction!) and have written the verse "I can do all things through Chrst which strenghtheneth me" on my bathroom mirror so before I start my day I know that with Christ I can accomplish what ever the day brings!

Well I was going to what and post this tommorrow but I thought it was pretty good and I can't wait, so here it is.

Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as

"Christmas," I didn't expect anything other than fun, commercial entertainment
songs of reindeer, Santa Claus, snowflakes and good cheer.

So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love,"
I was slightly taken aback by its bold title.

Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens,
red sweaters, and bright snowcaps upon their heads.

Those in the front row- center stage - held up large letters, one by one,
to spell out the title of the song.

As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C.
Then, "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented
the complete message, "Christmas Love."

The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet,
girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down -
totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".

The audience of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake.
But she had no idea they were laughing at her,
so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W".

Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued
until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together.

A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen.

In that instant, we understood the reason we were there,
why we celebrated the holiday in the first place,
why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities.

For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:

"C H R I S T W A S L O V E"

You know after I read the above story I know without a doubt that the little girl wasn't the one who had misspelled Christmas but instead I believe that in recent years all of us have been. Let us remember that we are celebrating the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Lets stop letting the world tell us how we need to be celebrating the most important birth that the world has ever seen or known. Well it is finally Christmas Eve. I hope everyone is ready to celebrate the most glorious birth that the world has ever seen and will never see again. Isn't wonderful to know that God loves us so much that he sent his own Son to die for mine and your sins. I just praise God today for his many blessings and his wonderous grace that he shows me. You know I know alot of people are struggling right now but you have God's assurance that everything is going to be okay, the most precious gift we have is a realtionship with Jesus and no one can ever take that from us.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

So let us be content with what God has blessed us with and he tells us that he is never going to leave us or forsake us. God bless and have a wonderful Christmas eve and remember to tell your family about the real meaning of Christmas. What a wonderful gift we all were given.

What a AWESOME GOD we SERVE!! He has BLESSED me and my wife this year with two MARVELOUS grand sons and a new daughter in law. Has BLESSED us with GOOD HEALTH!! and has answered so many of our PRAYERS!! He is the KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS He is MY SAVIOUR and I will FOREVER PRAISE HIS NAME!!!!!!!!!!!! I PRAY that he BLESSES everyone that BELIEVES IN HIM!!!!!! And that all CHRISTIANS everywhere are BLESSED with GOOD HEALTH,PROSPERITY and SPIRITUAL GROWTH this coming NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
