Had a great hunt this weekend. We didn't win but had a good time. Whip operated good but made a mistake that cost him. I'm going to make a coondog out of him and the mistakes will go away. lots of time and experience is what it takes.

Whip looked really good in the first round and scored 650+ in a hour hunt. He was 1st and 1st on the first 2 coon and 2nd and 1st on the last one. The second round he was 2nd and 2nd on the first coon and 4th and 1st on the last coon and got beat but didn't make any mistakes. I don't mind loosing as long as my hound does what he is supposed to. Other than the first tree all dogs were split the rest of the hunt and all did good. Great cast of hounds and handlers.

call me and I will try to find a time when you can come hunt with Whip or come spectate him on a cast. there isn't anything to hide with him. he isn't perfect but is as nice a hound as you will ever hunt with. he opens good on a hot track and only opens here and there on a bad track drifting it off looking for the tree. he has a great locate and you can tree him on his locate. he is a classy tree dog with a great mouth. he trees lots of lay up coon. bring your hound when you come so you can see he is well mannered and you can also make comparison.

Got my back surgery over with. Going to be down for awhile so I wont be able to take anyone hunting for a few weeks. Whip still likes his girlfriend visits though lol

Have a very nice gyp coming to be breed. Top notch pedigree to go with her ability. On another note my back is healing very well and I've been walking pretty good. My doctor likes the progress. Hopefully I'll be ready for fall coon hunting. Please keep me in your prayers!

Doctors appointment Thursday to see if I can start physical therapy. If so I will be hunting again immediately. My hounds are way overdue.

Got a good report and get to start physical therapy. Doc said I can also hunt at a limited basis as long as I wear my brace. Some hunting is better than no hunting. Thanks to everyone who has been praying.

Last night was our first hunt in quite awhile. Whip fell treed on twice without a track and ran 1 great track and finished it with the meat. Tonight he went 3 of 4 and the only one we didn't see a coon in was impossible to look for. I was proud of how he operated and look forward to getting back in shape with him and my Pie female.

I wouldn't own a hound that couldn't air scent and tree layed up coons. This is a trait I didn't have years ago until I started hunting hounds that were breed by Larry Hamlin . I've gotten spoiled to this trait and it's a trait that is needed to win when the coons aren't stirring. Nothing better than TREEING a coon that the other hounds don't know is there. The other thing I've noticed about air scenting hounds is that they can locate a tree quicker with accuracy. Nothing worse than a hound giving a locate then shutting up to track around a tree to make sure the coon is there while the other hounds have treed.

Another great hunt hunt last night. Whip is looking good and reminds me alot of Crocket. He likes to be alone but doesn't mind if the me tooers tree with him. He sure is fun to hunt and listen to. We got some pup training done last night. We are training 3 new up and coming coon hunters that have fallen in love with the sport. We love helping kids get started.

thank the Lord I got cleared by the surgeon to get back after it without any restrictions. only hunting now and then is horrible for me and the hounds. I don't know who is going to be more excited lol

Whip is now a GRNITECH. My daughter is starting to like hunting so we are going to push forward this year. She will be hunting Candy's Wooded Hope out of Woodrow x Candy. I'm going to be hunting Pie out of Piazon x Grace along with starting another young female we raised. I'm excited about my daughter hunting. God is good all the time!
