Tar, I'm with you on when hunt numbers started going down and agree when they stopped giving a dog a placement for finishing 2nd on the cast. I remember everybody saying it cheapened the NT. CH. title because of giving a dog a placement that didn't win his cast. We would have 12 or 15 four dog cast and even if you got a 10 place because you finished 2nd, you still had to get that first place cast win. This past weekend we had 6 dogs total 4 Nt. Ch. and 2 registered. Someone tell me why getting a win towards Nt. Ch. with only 2 dogs is so great, but getting a 9th or 10th place with 12 or 15 cast cheapens the title. I think getting that first place with 12 or more cast is certainly harder than getting it with only 2 dogs.
