I could name a handful more but that's out of hundreds of dogs I've seen from the south and west compete in the upper Midwest. The point I was trying to make is ....it's hard to beat dogs who are hunting in country they are used to and situations they are used to when all the dogs are solid coon dogs. Thick coons and overlapping, criss crossing hot tracks can really confuse some dogs who have never experienced that.
So can hunting in the mountains or the deep swamps. Your never going to have a hunt where somebody isn't from that area...but where Tony is talking about having this hunt is central to most people. It's fairly flat ...maybe a few rolling hills. Mostly bigger block patch woods and timbered river and Creek bottoms.
I have hunted there many times while competing in the s.s. and PKC world hunt. Just about anywhere you get guided to you will score 2-3 coons per cast if the dogs will go hunting. What I like about the area is that the hunting prospects are very even whether you go n,s,e, or w no matter what guide you get.
It's 5.5 to 6 hours drive from me but I would go if enough other people want to commit and show up for a good redbone hunt where many of the top red dogs want to compete against each other.

This won't be sanctioned, it'll be more less a redbone invitational
Let me know who might be interested

300$ entry fee

Call or Txt 903-650-4495

If I get a list that wants to do it, I'll set the hunt up. Would like for it to be in Illinois

Let me know if you need me to enter this albino redbone of mine to give you the numbers. Sounds like some are backing up from the challenge....lol

Boys you will be in coon country, if you want to hunt in swamps, mountains or jungles where you might tree a coon that's fine but you couldn't have picked a better place to have it.
