Slammer pup
Hey doin just wanted to give you an update on sandy. I hunted sandy mostly alone during our hunting season here in illinois. We seemed to have a real good coon population and she had no trouble finding a coon to run. Many a night with frozen ground and frost, she managed to openly track and tree a couple of coons. I kept her to myself until late in January, then I took a hunt with a coon hunter that I knew from years past. Sandy and his walker got treed, and after we walked into them we found them split treed about 15yards apart. They both had a coon in their trees, and we were both happy as can be. Last week Saturday night I took sandy to her first competition coon hunt. There was about 5 inches of hard frozen snow on the ground and the moon was full. Not the best conditions ,but sandy managed to win her cast. Sandy split treed 3 times that night, first with a den, then with a coon and last tree was slick. Sandy ended up with 100 plus points which was enough for 2nd place. I had a great time, and i am planning on going to another hunt next weekend. I hope things are looking up for you as well, and I would like to see an update on your hounds. Take care and happy hunting.
