Just a little about Cube's mouth. As for those of you that have seen him in person, and on video during the TV show days, there are dogs that are much louder than him. It is not his volume that makes him easy to hear, it is his pitch and tone.
He has a clear tenor bawl mouth dog, that I personally have called him tree up to three miles away. I used to be in the habit of dropping Cube by himself, driving down the road and cutting another dog in another section. I did this with a hunting buddy one night and we were really close to three miles from where we cut him. If you listened carfully you could here him running a track, locate, and tree.
Marc Brogan had him in the rolling hills (us flatlanders call them mountains). By his account he had no trouble hearing Cube from 800 to 900 yards away.
The female, she has what I would grade as an A+ mouth. Very houndy, with a ton of volume. She has the type of mouth that makes it really tough to hear another dog on the tree. She roars like a lion on the ground, has a B+ locate and a long chop on the tree. She is a little bigger than Cube, but most dogs are. She is a small framed female with a big heart and a bigger mouth.
I sent her papers in (I got her a month or so ago in a trade deal) so I don't have her pedigree right in front of me. But let me tell you, she has as much Clover in her pedigree as you can pack in a hound....seen very few dogs with more Clover in her....and she is true to type...she looks, tastes, smells, and feels like a clover dog should.
