Some of the posts have shown their total lack of knowledge of this type of hunting. Some of you have previously posted that if your dog ran coon more than 10 minutes you would shoot it. Others have said ours were trashing and fell off on a coon. I would propose to both sets the folowing. First prove your dog is open on track and then come here in Feb. or March and lets test your opinions. We will hunt five nights. If you tree every coon in under 10 minutes I will pay you. $5000 Minimum 3 per night. Thats $1000 per night. If they run one more than 1 hour without treeing it or quit and come in, or fail to go hunting in this terrain, I won't make you shoot your dog, I'll do it for you with my bullets.

This thread is funny to me and I will tell yall why. The man that posted this is partners with bobby barber and makes the laser torch lights which are good lights. People are quick to say the laser torch is made for coonhunters BY COONHUNTERS. But when the man post an experience that he has while hunting you say he don't know what he is talking about lmao. Just cracks me up how some coonhunters think.they know everything about what a coon can or would do. Have you ever had a tracker on a coon to verify this info that your spewing about a coon can't run this far or only goes this far. It's a wild animal you don't know what they can and can't do. I'm sure he knows his dog and the area he hunts more than any of you do. A man told me once he KNEW my dog was running a bobcat. I have live here for 35 yrs never seen a bobcat dead or alive. He been hear once and knows theres bobcats around. Lol. Yall need to realize just cause you haven't experienced something doesnt mean it's impossible and can never happen.

This thread has brought out the best experts in the business for sure. Some think they know it all and some think what their best friend says is the only way. Oh and by the way ... the way I do it is better than the way you do it.

And had the post started out, "and our beagles ran a rabbit the biggest part of the day" None of you would have questioned that. None, because most of us have rabbit hunted or have been with beagles. There is no difference here. The man says his dogs ran one that far, that long--who are we to say he did not? I have traded dogs for years. I have had a couple hounds do this myself.

I'm not saying that. Was his dog running trash? Don't know. Not my dog and never hunted where he hunts maybe hardly any coons. What I'm saying is by reading some of these posts you would think some of these people are scientists that have lived with coons studying them in the wild and shared meals and a den with them lmao. I understand knowing basic habits of the animal your hunting but to say a coon would never do this or that is crazy talk to me. Maybe his dog was running trash but who am I to tell him what his dog is or isn't doing. And why would I even care. There his dogs. Not mine. _

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything John Duemmer said.......most on here (except his bestie Cody) don't take him seriously.

For those who have given me the benefit of the doubt:

The people that I know have witnessed this type of race and longer are Myself (One World championship, one high place in another) Bobby Barber(placed 4th in a PKC World with a dog I trained and has won $Thousands in PKC money), Tommy Primeaux (One World championship) John Logan (10th place World champinshp and 40 years experiance, who came here believing that such races were not possible and left after one year amazed.), Wayne Ellis, who has trained some of the top /money winners and Grand Nites in the South, Jeremy Boyette (a long time hunter with loads of experience and was on this hunt). Thanks, you guys for your support and open mind.

Oh yes, You certainly did not draw out with me.

I searched for the Duemmer line of dogs but can't find anything on them. I'm sure they must have won big time with you at the reins.

I

turned a caged coon out tuesday this week at around 2 o'clock in the day. I waited about 30 seconds and turned a 19 month female on it. She got right on it and ran it like fast game out of hearing and right at 3 miles on the garmin before losing signal. I drove around and found her treed a good 5 miles or more from where i turned her out. If she had done this at night on a hunt i would have thought deer and when i found her treed i would have thought switched off but this was for sure the same coon and she ran close to 6 miles pretty much straight line in a matter of minutes so i have for sure changed my mind on how far some coon can run and i been doing this a long time.

I'm

not sure , it took me maybe 15 to get to truck and around that to drive around but i didn't put a watch on it. I would guess 30 to 40 but if that means the coon and my dog were running over the speed limit i'll change my story . lol

No matter what they were runnin they are some top off the line track dogs with plenty of heart. You got something there.Maybe some good bear or cat dogs.It almost impossible to be 100 percent sure what a dog is runnin and if it feel off on a coon.
