I've never heard Woody locate a tree, but I can tell you this pup's momma has a real, good, distinct locate. 3 to 4 long, squall-bawls when she comes on the tree, then a hard, smooth, steady chop on tree. No bounce, no chew, no running the wood. If they will let her she will just stand like a statue with both feet on the wood & tree. Real classy tree dog.
