I hate to keep hijacking your thread, but Wayne Chondo just called me. He has a pup out of Sam and Zee.. 12 weeks old that will run and tree a hide, and tear hair from it when he gets ahold of it! Said he swims small sections of ponds now.. he is sending me pics of him on a disk ( you know the older guys just can't get into computers..LOL) I will post them when I get them.. David Walsh got a first place on his 14 month male out of Sam and Rose at the BBCHA sectional at Darbydale Ohio this past weekend. He also won king of the hunt. I believe this was the first hunt for this young hound.
I took a mate to him that I call Blue Boy and did not hunt but did show and won best of show with him. This was the first time for him to be shown.
Topper won the male champions and the king of show. topper is also 14 months and off of Pop A Top Again.
Just an update on some of the young ones.

Way to go guys, congrats on the wins! We had ours in the young guns at blu days for his first hunt. didnt win nuthin but was very pleased with how he acted for his first time on the road and first time being turned loose with a group of dogs. Were gona put him in a few select hunts around here this year, but probly wait till next year to push him hard. Just like for him to be a little more grown up when dealing with some of these high power intense tree dogs!

Luke, Got to see your young hound at the nationals and he is nice.
I really liked mine, probably the nicest young hound I have had in a long time and very balanced for his age. Last two nights out he showed me 3 out of 4 coon but last night he got hit on the road and had his back broken. really has me upset. I called him Blue Boy. Best of luck with yours.

So Sory for the loss Bill. The thought of it makes me sick. It never seems to fail that it happens to the nice ones. Never happens to the junkers. A deal like that just takes the wind out of ya. This one of ours has had us woried many a night cause when he gets a notion he can get thru the country and dosent let the blacktop slow him down. I guess when bred for the fire we all want its always a chance when there unsnapped. Again, very sory.

Yeah, I agree with you on the junkers. It was pretty dry where I was hunting but I have to admit the ground got wet from my tears.
Will probably make this cross again although I did not intend to breed Rosie again because I wanted to hunt her. I will be 68 when they would be born. Getting too old to train. I had decided that Blue Boy would be the last one and then just hunt trained dogs but we will see.
