i wonder if somebody cheated a cheaters kid in a hunt would they be mad about it or just tell their son or daughter they need to suck it up and move on? or would that make them change their way of thinking?

Reckon a dog would not bark first on coon if it knew the other dog smelled it first. Thats what I would call an honest coon dog!!!

Who cares if other people find coons for you? As long as they can see them after you find them.

10K?

Is really not that much money in this day and age... but its interesting to see who would price their reputation and good name for such...where are all these 10K hunts? and who's winning them all? Maybe I've been living under a stump...seems alot of folks have lost touch with the "spirit" of the hunt...hunting and dogs are somthing I "spend" money on....these "pro" coonhunters crack me up. What's next a "handlers union"? maybe a collective bargaining agreement??? Honesty is priceless....

P.S. I will see your dogs coon Mike...if he has it....you wont even need to buy my breakfast at the waffle house..... or give me a new blazer belt light.... or a pup from your stud dog.....

the way i look at is if you got a straight up coon dog one thats hard to beat and the other handlers see that then their gonna try to get you scratched before you make the second or third drop and not have to worry about you the rest of the night, the paid handlers is gonna go blind or their light will quit burnin or goin dead at your tree and and workin good at their tree,so chances are and good honest coonhunter is gonna get bent over with no vasoline in the woods and walk away with his feelins hurt..but with 10k on the line i say leave your ego's at the truck and let the dogs decide who wins who agrees with that?

Thats awesome .I dont Know where You can just go hunt for that kinda money . I think the good ol boys honest do gooders lol are what makes up the clubs in this country. And if the win at all cost , dishonest competitors, or slik handlers continue to drive people away what is to become of the clubs ? The people or clubs are not going to hold hunts for a bunch of sliksters. Where are all these handlers gonna compete ? The people that run the clubs are unselfish, hard working , honest people THAT WOULD FIND YOUR COON . I wonder what kind of club it would be with all the members are win at all cost all about the money ? The sport of competitioncoon hunting would end . I dont think the kind of hunters that would bend the rules go blind on you or not shine your tree would ever be unselfish enough to run a club or put on a hunt that anyone would attend . Just my opinion . I have a lot of respect for the competitor that will do the right thing and I bet there is some very successful hunters that win that are as honest as anyone . I started this thread just to get a feel as to how this is viewed . I hope everyone has a job and I realise thats alot of money! A person can work a few months and EARN that much . Why sell your integrity down the river for the rest of Your life for that .

Isnt having your dog in shape, knowing what it sounds like when its struck, knowing what it sounds like when it is treed, and being able to find its coon the job of the handler? 95% of the time if a dog has a coon you will find it in the first 2 minutes and Im gonna take my 2 minutes. I learned a long time ago that if you want to fight and bicker all night with someone always gettingcheated, put a trophy that cost 1.50$ and a win slip on the line

Hell you could turn off your light all togther and see the sky in that black hole. I have to admit that I am the best coon finder I have ever seen. So I knew that I was getting my leg pulled and he knew he was trying it out LOl though tiiiy fellow. Stawp mine if you think you have a chance at it.

Every member of the cast has a responsability to fairly shine every tree weather or not they have a dog on that tree doesnt matter and if they dont they are cheatin and poor sportsmen.
Every tree is scored by a cast vote,PLUS,MINUS, OR CIRCLE. If you havent shined the tree, you cant vote honestly and there is no middle ground between honest and dishonest.
If i have a handler on my cast that is not shining he will be scratched immediatly for unsportsman like behavior and if he wants to question it he can embarass himself further back at the club.

karma is a beach, cheatin will bite u in the rump.i hunted with some of the slickest handlers in the country and beat them in there own game.alot of the cheaters like to sweet talk ppl to get there way.or buddy up with a friend.just show up with a good enough hound so if they cheat it will be extremely hard for them to win.know the rules dont let that happen to you.

I don't act a fool, I just don't shine.... If they don't want me to shine the 1st 2 mins to try & help them they don't need my help the other time. Alot of big time handlers will say the same such as Ronnie Bone, Ryan Crowson, ect.

this has probably been said before but if you are hunting for 10,000 it dont matter how many of the cast members see the coon there is no vote it is up to the non hunting judge to see it or not. if you do not shine the tree then you cant see a coon therfore you are not cheating you didnt see it. now is it right not to shine the tree? the people that are low down are the ones that shine the tree see the coon and never say anything. think about this if you and a non hunting judge are shining thats 2 lights in the tree if you cant find him in 8 or 10 minutes chances are you aint going to, there hae been several times i think you can have too many lights in a tree with all these new high powered lights some of the trees look like you ar etrying to land a jet plane. true story on the side of the river in a major event my hound was treed we were shinging a barge came down the river and i guess he wanted to help us shine he threw his light in the tree coon came down tree running and left i was the only one who saw the coon come down the tree as he bailed on the side i was standing on. lost cast needed to plus that one to win

I ain't seen a good dog in a long time.
If he was good enough to hunt for and win 10 grand , I'd find his coon and give it to him just for the pleasure of hunting with him.

HECK NO!!!! No one is or could be compared to Bone & yes he's the best I've ever seen at finding coons!!! If he can't find the coon its more then likely gunna be - tree regardless if its legit unless it has a hole in it. 1 of the best judges I've seen & a hell of a guy.
