Wow, look at how far a simple question will take things! Apparently I wasn't clear enough with my original post...wasn't asking anyone what they thought of the Garmin, I asked what I should buy in order to get the best performance. I've used a Wildlife TRX16S for years, does it work, yes...is it flawless, no. I've carried a cheap $99 Garmin e-trex in my pocket for the past couple of years and it has gotten me out of the woods without any problems in all kinds of conditions day & night. I will be ordering my system soon. I will be using it on my coonhounds as well as my rabbit dogs. It will be put to the test in all kinds of conditions, I will report my findings good and bad. wd

Slicker84, if I were you, I would go back and edit most of the few posts I had made before I called anyone stupid.
I will leave it at that!

It is not about the quantity of your posts, but rather the quality!
Or lack thereof!

Not to stop the arguments but, how many on here use the Amplifiers with their astro 220, and if you do, how much more range do you get out of them?

I did use a Tracker. Just got a Garmin and wonder how I ever hunted without it.

I have found that the dc-30 has better range than the new dc-40. in fact, (though I didn't test it too well), the dc-20 seems to be better than the dc-40. I have both, and have used all three.
Gonna start putting the 30 on my wide hunter.
