I crossed a leopard hound on a walker and another on a mountain cur. I kept a pair out of both crosses. One pup of each pair was merle. So I named one of each pair Merle and the other Haggard, after Merle Haggard. That did't work out when we started training them. One pulled real bad on the leash so I called him Mule. My buddy started calling one Anna, But that left me with two named Merle. They hunted like I bred them to. They could hunt out forty acres and not get gone. So my buddy started calling one of the Merles, Forty Acres. I shortend that to Forty. Then my buddy started calling the other one Acre. So now I have

Forty Acre Anna Mule

The two Leopards I have are named Friendly and Clorox. You might try naming a pup the first words out of the breeders mouth when you're picking one out. The breeder said, "he's friendly." A friend of mine had a breeder say "now this ones going to be a world burner" so he named it Gonna Be. Clorox had Parvo as a pup and I had nothing to loose trying the clorox home brew. I said "Come here and get your clorox to him so many times he started answering to it.

one named Z had a Zmark on forhead as pup but turned into a lighting bolt gonna name his son Z square
one named Rain rained like crazy when she was born and is white with lots of ticks

I remember one several years ago, seems like it was the finals of the world hunt or something, that had this weird French spelled name. Phideaux or something like that. It was pronounced Fido though.

What ever happened to the name "Waggles"? In the fifties my aunt at Hendersonville, NC had one by that name. That Sackett Jr line is bad about beating their tails bloody in the dogbox. The next pup I keep out of my old Jr. dog, I'm gonna name Waggles.

We have CH'PR'SMM Mayhem on Main Street... we call him Heckler, and he, like most young dogs, doesn't know when to stop bothering the other dogs in the kennel for playing. It fits him quite well, I think If he makes the cut and we ever decide to breed him, I think "Master of Mayhem" or "Master of Disaster" or something like that would be funny for a pup...

We also have 'PR'SMM Whiskey Bent by Sundown... her call name is Allie - short for "alcohol."

I have always been a fan of "Unstable Miss Mable"... love that name

A buddy of mine has a pup off bean and he calls him Duke, and its becauce he likes the Duke Blue Devils.

His brother and me renamed Duke the other night to
STRIKIN PAPER RED HOT DUKEY or maybe even HOCKEY TICKETS HOT DUKEY.
He doesn't like ether one to well! LOL!!
