hey guys its not all about smokeing its not wanting to be forced to do anything we as americans dont want to be told too or not to do something thats just our pride im the same way . but im aganist smokeing my parents have smoked all my life and ive had cancer took treatments. and just had open heart surgery dont know if its related . so im staying out of this .but lets not get outrages mad at others because we dont agree and use bad language and get bared from the site we all like so much not refuring to anyone just see its getting heated up . and i enjoy visiting with everone on here . but its getting where you cant do anything without it being a law aganist it.

I understand what most of you are getting at, however I was under the impression that A.O. was an event where a bunch of people and their hounds show up to have a good time not an event about smoking.

I'm sure that most of you are making some sort of sacrifice to go to A.O. whether it be an opportunity cost or giving up something so that you can afford to attend. I would just consider having to change your smoking procedure at A.O just another one of those sacrifices. IMO....sure the rule is silly, but if you cant be a mature adult about it then you mind as well save the rest of us a headache and stay home.

How does smoking in the WIDE OPEN OUTDOORS where the air flows FREELY have ANY affect on ANYONE but the one who is smoking?

If I drink a beer at a concert is the alcohol gonna affect the non drinker standing beside me? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess I just don't understand why all of a sudden America is starting to segragate the people into 1 group...

smoking

hey guys its not ukc. or that anyone has anything aganist anybody smokeing but i was talking to a friend of mine and he works for the new ag. expo center and fair grounds here wher i live and there board committe just banned smokeing and half of them on the committe smoke ther reason was the clean up the butts on the ground that everone throws down he said it takes several hours of clean up and most people throw them down without thinking of it. he smokes and even amitted he does and dont think about all the money spent for cleaning up after each event.until he took the job and sees how much they have to clean after each event. thats probley why the fair grounds there is going non smoking my opion not saying its right but if people want too smoke put out cans for them to put there butts in and let the police that patrol the grounds right tickets for people throwing butts or any other trash down. littering is not being considerit to others. lets not trash a beautiful fair grounds up for ive been going to a.o. for years and see people throw all kinds of trash down we are humans not animals so we shouldnt trash it up. thats just my opion dont mean too upset anyone.

Richard
It's the old "Divide and Conquer theory". Anytime a law/rule regulating
any ones freedom to pursue their happiness is passed. The freedom to pursue your own happiness one step closer to being regulated. If we fail to stand up for the other guy, He will not be there to stand up for us.
I believe that we have become far to willing to let the people in Washington take our rights one at a time. The plan is very simple, take something from one small group at a time until everyone becomes apathetic and feels that they have no choice.
"When Apathy rules, all people are slaves" To the few who have power.

I have pulled my time and I have helped to defend our rights to be able to do things like smoke outside. So pull your time and see if your opinion changes. Dont get on here and tell a vet to move to another country A**hole

You told me I should leave if I don't like someone smoking around me.

You don't seem to like the Government and its laws so maybe you should take your own advice.

I am very appreciative of what veterans have done for me and our country.

I'm not going to get into any childish name calling arguments so I will not comment anymore. I'm sorry this has gone the way it has. I won't even be at A.O. so what do I care.

I think they're getting a little carried away with this. I don't smoke , quit more than 30 years ago, wife does. I have issues with asthma and it bothers me. We work around it, I've never told her she HAS TO QUIT.
If I'm not mistaken the tax on cigarettes just jumped up again. Alcohol is another popular money maker when it comes to taxes. Looks to me like government is not ashamed to make money off peoples habits and addictions. Drinking and smoking are legal and the ones in power seem content to rake in the tax money.

Ever think about how many people would be out of work on both sides if we ever actually WON the war on drugs. Won't happen, we can't afford it.

AO's will take care of itself one way or the other depending on how big a deal it becomes.

Never fear, Obama is going to raise taxes on soft drinks and chips as well.

Before long everyone will be "equally offended and regulated". We will have to apply for permits to breath and wipe our rear ends. And probably be taxed for that as well.

Concerning Autumn Oaks. The last I checked the grounds are privately owned and they can set the rules. At least I wont have to hold my breath and fight my way through a cloud of smoke and people who smell like wet ashtrays to get into the buildings.

I never told you to leave the country. I simply stated that if someone doesnt like standing next to a person who is smoking outside then it is their problem and they should walk away. Drinking alcohol impairs your judgement smoking does not.

I don't smoke, my daughter has asthma and I prefer not to smell cigarette smoke or come out of a building smelling of cig. smoke. I don't want my daughters health compromised or her enjoyment at the event ruined because of an asthma attack.

Now...maybe they should have a designated smoking area. That would appease the smokers and non smokers alike. I've been to county fairs and been burned by cigarettes just walking thru the crowd.

And no...cigarette butts are not bio-degradable.

Smoking

I dont smoke, never have and never will.................

I also dont like being around it and will leave the area if its close to me.

I think they should make several smoking buildings (vent-less) and that way the smokers can gather in them, smoke, and inhale ALL the smoke they want---------smoke until their eyes bug out and they turn green......LOL..

I for one am glad they (locals) are doing this.........for all the ones that refuse to go to Oaks because of this, the dif in attendance will be made up by the ones that will now go because of it.......

Just my thoughts...................................Tim

It doesn't matter the rule is don't smoke if you don't like it don't go, but for example in basketball when the ref blows the whistle how many times do you see the call over turned when the crowd boos you don't so it doesn't matter. no smoking thats it , booing is not going to change it so deal with it and move on, take some mints or something if you get a craving

i dont smoke but i do chew. if some one dose not like cig smoke they should just walk away. this is the usa and last time i checked people were free but that is soon changing in to mojority rules type of deal. just because some people do not cig smoke dose not give them the right to bann it. but some people take things to far. just because u breathed in some second hand smoke 1 or 2 times dose not mean u will get lung cancer. as a father i feel it is my job to keep my kids away from it. and if i am in a group talking to some people and some one is smokeing i just ask them to snubb it out till kids can leave most of them understand.
