Bruce,
I coon hunt around home , but have to go 300 miles away to bear hunt. Will it work in both places? Or do I need more map cards or whatever?
And , can you charge them up from your truck? Or do you need to charge them at the house?

Bob. Just tell Bruce what area you want covered. I got a map card that covers from Michigan south to Arkansas east to Norther Florida and north to Maine. $20

You can charge the unit in the house or by the cigarette lighter/Power source in your vehicle.

I would go buy a 4 battery re-chargable unit at Wally world, ($20) with the batteries. I keep one plugged in while I hunt as a back up. I have ran these same batteries for up to a week before needing to recharge, then just switch them out.

The bonus for me what that I used the turn by turn navigation when I went home to Pennsylvania this thanksgiving, I found a few shortcuts that I haver known about. It also has a cool function that allows you to mark the truck, then no matter how far away you get from it, hit a button and it gives you a compass reading and a map trail to return tot he truck. Used that last night, lovin it.

I have had my unit for 8 months or so now, has not failed me yet, not to mention, no BEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEP.

You'll love it Bob.

i don't think the dog thats barking is the dog that needs tracking.

My dog slipped his collar last night 1/2 mile deep. I took the Garmin and walked in looking for it. It took me straight to it in heavy cover and I looked down and saw the collar at my feet. The thing is just incredible.
