I would like to see them hold the world hunt in Michigan or Ind. in late dec. with no leaves and snow. I dont think they will ever do this because the guys from the south will not come up this time of year because of the weather. The south and the north both have thier tuff times but you go to michigan and hunt in the winter and you will see what tuff is. Michigan gets hot and muggy in the summer also so we get it from one end to the other as far as weather goes. I have hunted north ga. I can tell you it is not like michigan in the winter. I had a friend from north ga. that came up and hunted and he could not wait to get back to north ga.

dont get me wrong up north yall have some great dogs but i want to see some of them dogs come through the swamps like our dogs do only other time we see is the winter classic and the only time i even hunt on a feeder is when i have a puppy

Ya yall got swamps but there different. There easy. shallow. No thick briars in there. Plus that the water's different. Our's is black and thick. You guy's water is clear and easy to wade through. The mud don't suck you down the way our's does either. The air quality is better up there too. We got smog and yall got fresh air. It's also widely believed among us southerners that coons from up north are too fat to run.

The swamps up here are as bad as anything you have there. We have them that all you can do is swim. I know of a bunch that go for miles and miles. I have been to places that people say are ruff but are not a drop in the bucket to what we have in michigan. I have had to get a boat more than one time to get to the dogs. Till you have hunted these places up here you have no idea what it is like. I have been in your swamps down there they are tuff but no tuffer than some of them up here.

You know it is real easy for all of you to sit on this computer and compare places, dogs, climate... I spend three months this summer and close to $20,000 traveling the country and hunting. I have seen and hunted most of the areas you are all talking about. Not to mention the years I spend in the USMC traveling and hunting this country. I have yet to see any takers on my offers to come here and hunt. You make me the same offer and see how fast Gunner and I show up to hunt your territory! Ask Jay Hyde how fast I will accept an offer .
How about we quit agruing about it and get to hunting. The World Hunt will never come to the deep south out of FEAR! Everyone is afraid of the gators, snakes, and unknown of Florida.

I don't too much like getting eat by alligators and I really don't want my dogs eat by gators either. From what folks have told me yall lose dogs on a regular basis down there to gators. Sorry if I don't want any part of that. But I just don't.

Oh yeah, well....well, sometimes up here, in the winter, we have to hop from iceberg to iceberg and dodge polar bears all at the same time. When we have to swim between icebergs, we carry our belt lights AND leashes clamped in between our teeth, because if we drop them in the icewater swamps that are 30 feet deep, the lights stop working and the leashes freeze up and break. Also, try shooting a coon while doing the one-armed backstroke around one of them there big icebergs....all while your dog is trying to climb up on you to get away from the polar bear that's chasing him. And...and...the penquins we got up here are vicious. Gotta stay away from them, too. And...and...and......we have to climb uphill both going to the woods and coming home! Man, I tell ya, it's rough up here.

Oh yeah. My dad can beat up your dad.

I like how the World hunts move from location to location. You all complain cause the hunt isn't in your back yard, but why isn't it? You have to ensure you have plenty of guides and judges to put on the hunt. Then you have to have lots of hunting ground. You don't want a dog getting shot or run over while on the World hunt, do you? It takes a lot of people to put on a major hunt, and the number of clubs that can are getting fewer and fewer all the time. Thats why the big breed hunts are all in the same places.

I like that it moves. East TN next year, IL last year, Middle TN 3 years ago, etc. Its been in TX and IA and everywhere all over. I'd like to see the world hunt held in Florida or New Hampshire or even the Dakotas for that matter, but I doubt it will. Not any fault of the hunters there, but there have to be the guides AND the judges. Also you have to think about who all will show up. I think UKC would be better doing a hunt in one of these due to they only have 100 dogs in the finals at that location.

Also, it doesn't matter where you live if you've got a coon dog or not. It matters MORE how you hunt, and how often you hunt. If you live in the most coon in the country, but only make one drop every three weeks, you're not going to beat a guy who lives where there aren't hardly any and win under any circumstances. The truth is, even if you hunt all night every night in any circumstances, you are still going to get beat sometimes, and you may never win the World hunt. Luck has a lot to do with it to.

Like I said, I'm all for the UKC World being in NH or FL or a million other places, but you guys need to get the hunters from your areas together to put on this hunt and talk to UKC about it. Best of luck to you. I hope it works out for states that might feel neglected up to this point.

Smokey you need to get in touch with this Sheepster guy from north Georgia that used to be on here. He said all the clubs in north Georgia are full of cheaters and mean dogs. He'll tell you why there should be no hunts other than pleasure hunts in north Georgia..... let alone have the world hunt there.
