Mean Plotts?

I love Plotts....had an excellent Plott cadaver dog. I think some of you confuse mean, with tough. This dog was indeed tough...no back down in this one, but totally cool around everything. He even did security at the local fair....10,000 people a day....and of course all types of livestock....rabbits, cats, and chickens included.

He was a bit of a genius and very intuit. He was, however, aloof. He did not have that overly friendly side that so many hounds of all breeds can have. This was a very good quality for the work he did. He was more of a thinking dog than many hounds I've been around and trained, and trained with. Wish he was still here.

Breeds don't make the dogs. The dogs are individuals, and I think this thread is more about training ability, and the committment and attitudes of the humans. And for those of you that openly admit you don't even like dogs, but do like hunting...your opinions mean very little to the true dog men and women on this forum, IMO.

Thank you for clearing that up.. I love the dogs but the people..some I like and some I dont.
Mostly for their attitudes....

well well well. I guess it's about time I chimed in on this topic too! Some Plotts are good, some are bad, some are mean, some are gentle pets, some tree buttloads of coon, some can't take a track to tree, some are great, some need a bullet to the head....wait are we talking about Plotts or all breeds of hounds.

You all keep hunting whatever you want and chasing the comp hunts and I'll keep hunting my no good Sizzlin Heat bred Plotts. Why? cause they make me happy, except for on the nights when they piss me off (just like every one of your dogs). But there are more good nights than bad. So hunt what you want and I'll hunt what I want and we can all be happy.

Good luck out there, and keep 'em treed!!

I hunt blueticks and i like them. I have hunted with walkers and black and tans. Ive never hunted a plot or over a plot. Most people on this site get on here and trash other breeds for no apparent reason other than the fact that base there OPINIONS on what they think. There are good dogs and bad dogs in every breed. So dont be color blind open your eyes and see a good coon dog when you see one.

Welcome to this forum, Deep Treed!!! I agree 100% with you and have said so time after time when the subject comes up about which breed is best...blah, blah, blah....

People hunt what they hunt because it is what they like for one of many reasons. If it's because they think it's the only breed worth hunting, fine. But let the rest of us poor stupid people who haven't "seen the light" and realized their breed is best just continue one doing what we're doing content being stupid but happy.

Hi, I'm stupid but happy!! LOL

Plotts

I like a Plott, didn't know you had one John! Bring him down to our old club and we will tree one or two. My rabbit hunting buddy is back at it, we might try it this year.
