I never took the time to read this whole post but here's my two cents. I think the best thing G.W. may have done for this country is to put two conservatives on the supreme court. Time will tell on that, but I'd still vote for him. My question is who's next? I haven't seen one yet that deserves my vote in the sorry bunch that want the job next. I hope he gets to put one more on the court.

Im a GW fan

I dont say much but i do enjoy reading the post
and keeping up with what goes on in the coonhound
world.

What has our president done wrong?
For 6 1/2 years we havnt had any immorality issues.
with Clinton it was a weekly thing and sometimes daily
watching the news to see where he messed up.
Im not really a republican or democrat.
Im a christian conservative.I vote that way always.
I thank God everyday for our president. He makes a
decision and sticks by it to the end.He doesn`t go
poll shopping and then decide what to do.And we know
Bill and Hillary will make all decisions this way.I dont agree
with him in the immigration issue.I do respect him for his
view.He believes it the right one and I think differently.
in iraq the iraqi`s are fighting each other and mostly
we are fighting al qaeda.Al qaeda is going to keep
cooming after us even if we leave iraq.
Where do U think we need to fight al qaeda???????

Who cares how he compares to Bill? He did not run against Bill and Bill is not the standard we grade our presidents by.

I voted for George the first time but not the second. I don't think George is a good president but I am not sure any one he ran against could have done any better.

He is just biding his time now waiting to get out of this mess.
Kyle

yes clinton should have done what Bush is doing now. he should have stayed in Somolia and let more americans get killed until he could get out of office and let someone else try to clean up his mess. Bush made a mistake and he doesnt have the guts to own up to it. people call bush brave. a brave man doesnt send troops to battle without a plan to finish it. and no, getting out of office and running to the ranch in crawford texas is not the exit strategy we need.

I'm sure if you and about 100,000,000 others would allow it, he would be glad to stay another 4 years.
I would vote for that!

I think its funny that the energy bill is being discussed and Bush says it all sounds good but if the part making Oil price gouging a federal crime is left in he will veto the energy bill(HMMMM?) But Georgie don't have nothin to do with controlling the markets. He hasn't been involved in the oil industry for years(HMMMM?)

How many ways can GW's administration address the changing of a light bulb

The Answer is TEN:

1. One to deny that a light bulb needs to be changed,
2. One to attack the patriotism of anyone who says the light bulb needs to be
changed,
3. One to blame Clinton for burning out the light bulb,
4. One to tell the nations of the world that they are either for changing the
light bulb or for darkness,
5. One to give a billion-dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton for the new light
bulb,
6. One to arrange a photograph of Bush, dressed as a janitor, standing on a
stepladder under the banner "Light Bulb Change Accomplished,"
7. One administration insider to resign and write a book documenting in detail
how Bush was literally "in the dark,"
8. One to viciously smear #7,
9. One surrogate to campaign on TV and at rallies on how George Bush has had a strong light-bulb-changing policy all along,

and finally:

10. One to confuse Americans about the difference between screwing a light bulb and screwing the country.

I never have bought the standard liberal line about W getting rich off of oil because of conflicts in the Middle East that he stirred up. If that were actually happening, that is FAR too easy for people in the opposition to find out, publicize, and paste all over every media outlet known to mankind. Do you people not believe that if this was ACTUALLY happening that the DNC wouldn't be putting it on commericial after commercial with SPECIFIC NUMBERS and documented sources. Do you not think the DNC's finance lawyers and other pencil pushers don't turn over every rock they can find to try and find out info like that? Yet all we hear is "Bush is gettin' rich off of oil because of the fighting in Iraq." Well---- prove it. Show me how much stock he owns in oil companies while he's been in office. Show me how much profit he's made since he's been in office. Hard facts, numbers, tax info. Did you people know that they (gov officials) have to report tax info and that can be made public record?

Just for the record I think Bush screwed up by going into Iraq. However I do not think he was motivated by desire for personal wealth in doing so. I think people in the administration and intelligence community gave him some intel that turned out to be false, but at the time that he sent troops in Bush actually felt there where WMDs in Iraq and that those WMD were likely to find their way into terrorists' hands to be used against the U.S. Democratic leaders who were presented with the same intel thought the same thing and voted to send troops into Iraq just like the President did.

I can understand that mistake. In the world after 9-11 any president will be quicker to act on a percieved threat.

What I really dislike about Bush and his administration is their (& his) unwillingness to admit mistakes and hold people accountable for screwing up. W is so loyal to those that are loyal to him that he is too slow to replace them when they aren't getting the job done (can you say "Rumsfelt"?) nor can he swallow his own pride and admit when mistakes are made by him and his administration. That grates on me.

Well said, PWC!!

Seems to me that Bush has stuck with his military leadership too long. Looking back at history, successful operations often changed leadership very quickly when things aren't going correctly.

I read a column by a Fox news analyst, Col. David Hunt. His opinion carries some weight with me since he has been involved in leading military operations. He says that Bush just doesn't get it and had this to say:

quote:
We once had a president who got it; his name was Lincoln. He got fed up with the Union Army and fired a bunch of senior generals. He hired a drunk by the name of Grant, a man who was not even in the Army at the time, but who knew how to lead and how to be brutal when necessary. This was a man who knew how to win. Lincoln’s advisors told him, “Mr. President do you know that you just hired a drunk?” Lincoln said, “Find out what he is drinking, and give it to the other generals.”

Now, that my friends is leadership and we need it both in the military and the White House.

Lincoln didn't have the balls to win, so he hired a drunk to kill the women and children and burn the crops. He did this to his fellow americans.

i would just love to be able to vote for the best guy not the best of two evils. we need a dirt poor president someone that has gone thru the pain of not having enough money to give their kids things they want. living from check to check with no room to spair. that guy i would vote for.
