No no changin dogs for one. Looser is the male my gyp was breed to. An i do not hunt feeder buckets. Thats just how she is she can work a bad track if she wants to. She just dont want to most of the time. I didnt say she was the best dog ever. Shes been beat befor an will get beat agin. No dog is perfect its what you prefer to hunt. I didnt say she was a 100% accurate. I just simple said in the time i have been huntin her. Every tree i have walked to has had a coon in it. Or it was a ben tree. Not a squiral nest, not a wood pecker hole. A den tree one that was holler from the ground up. An i have never hunted her when the leaves was on full this time of year. Like i said i just started huntin her last november. An no crap its harder to see a coon this time of year. If it dont look you proble anit gona see it. But ill be more than glad to take you huntin with her anytime you want to see her go.

Boys, to me a coondog is not rated by how many hunts he will win or lose. He is rated by how good he is at treein coon! Not trees, but coon! I've seen many an accurate dog that are great coondogs, that can handle the pop-ups in thick coon or the tough ones in thin coon. That will stay treed after you walk a mile and a half to get to them and have the coon. But you put some of these dogs in the hunts with the loose mouths dogs, dogs that wont stay hooked, and dogs that refuse to honor another dog even if he is right and pulls up on a slick twenty feet away just cause he knows he might get his but kicked for backing a dog, some of these good dogs cant take all that pressure. Sure it is a fault but you take this dog by himself or with decent dogs they are coondogs! Maybe not comp. dogs but coondogs! Some good comp. dogs are not what I call coondogs, and some coondogs are not comp. dogs. All dogs have faults I've not seen one yet that if you hunt him enough you wont find them. I just think a coondog should catch (or tree) coon. Not just win hunts.

I believe I'll pass on both dogs. 60%-70% isn't good enough for me and neither is a dog that pulls routinely with dogs tracking around them.

Now if dog A improved to 75% to 85% or better, I would taker him over dog B. Hey there Tackett see ya at English days.

Why would someone take a 70% dog over a 90% dog?Doesnt make good since, and PROBABLY is why many breeds are full of slick treeing idiots.

Im in the minority here, If i had to walk to a slick tree one out of three trees id be diggin a hole. B would be a fine hound for a pleasure hunter who only hunted one dog, which by the way is all it takes to tree a coon.

Do they just fall treed and one dog commits stronger than the other? That's all Iv'e heard any of you talk about. Are both dogs deaf? At some point in this hypothetical, one dog would strike before the other. Are both dogs deaf. Why didn't the one that doesn't have one going yet beat a blue streak to the other and show him how it's done? If either one would do that you wouldn't have those dummies treeing all over the woods. I'd for sure be getting rid of the deaf one. The proof of a decent dog doesn't start at a tree, it starts with a strike. Like the saying goes, "You got to know how to run em before you can tree em". No wonder ya'll praising that slick treer.

If they started giving 10 points for first strike and 500 points for first tree you rule playing, clock watching hunters would end up with stupider dogs than you're hunting today.

Can't believe it!!!

People talking about which hypothetical dog with problems they'd rather have.

Why not just hypothetically fix these problems? Then you can have two hypothetical coondogs without any problems.

Why has no one thought of that?

My imaginary training methods will fix the problems of all hypothetical dogs. It never fails. I guarantee them to work on all hypothetical problems. You just have to believe.

Dog B strikes runs and trees and stays cause A aint said a word. Find his 90% coon. Then A falls treed. B checks and covers and coon is seen or B checks and don't cover and 60% of coon is not seen. I'll take B if I got to.

If I walk a half way and he leaves it aint good but he might be gone to check and be right back. If not it's a wasted half mile. Beats walking a mile to a slick and getting laughed at. That's a two mile round trip.

Dog A

A Is probubly the most sought after of the two becuse he wins Hunts, dosent make him the better dog it just means you cant win with dog B , but if your like me and you just want a good track driving , find a coon when you get there coon dog , then give me B most of the dogs i know that check a tree are better dogs anyways .............iv had both kinds so im not just spouting off ............
