I don't have a clue what influence the Riverbend dogs in my dogs pedigree are having. I like a lot about him and since some had to come from them. I give them a thumbs up for now.

I know one thing that picture of Riverbend Lonesome II laying there looks a lot like my dog except my dogs color on both sides of the muzzle are even. My dog also has shorter ears which is one of my biggest dislikes about him.

Did Lonesome II on the other side of him we can't see have a white spot or a few white hairs towards his tail.
My male has that and that is how people identified the pups as they all looked about the same with the exception of the spot of white hairs back towards their tail. One had about a dime size spot, one had just 3 white hairs while a couple had 7 or 8 white hairs. It was fully how each had just a few number of white hairs in that same spot.

Genetics is fascinating.

Anybody on here hunt with Lonesome II. Did he represent the Riverbed dogs in characteristics.

Hunted with Lonesome II once. I believe he was 8 or 9 months old, best I can remember he would get off to himself, tree and hold pressure, very impressive. There's other guys on here that should be able to tell you a whole lot more on him then I can though.

My male has a mouth an old man would like. More of a Tenor Mouth but not a high tenor. Easy to hear a long ways.

It was always my opinion that the traits I desired from the River Bend dogs were the extreme game desire, extreme fast hunters and good trackers. As far as the mouth I was always told Flag was chop on track and threw that. Though Flag threw many desirable traits I don't think his mouth was the favorite. I don't think the tenor bawl came from Flag. I don't consider myself an expert on Flag but all my dogs carry his blood. Some of the old timers I've hunted with in the past told me which traits in my dogs came from him.
