Darren,

Hornet has really worked on Albert females, That ought to be a good cross you have there.

You ought to take a female out of that cross and breed it back to an Echo bred dog and see what you come up with.

Troy Sheffield's Pete dog, Dual Gr. Ch. Razor Ridge Pop A Top, Gr. Ch. Pop A Top Again, and Nt. Ch. Gr. Ch. Razor Ridge DUI.

DUI is here at my house for the time being, but he belongs to Austin Cox.

I think the Echo dogs are one of the best kept secrets in the breed, and could really compliment some of the other prominent lines out there.

Troy also has Bodacious, he is out of EchoII and dual grand Pop A Dot. He has four wins toward grand, is qualified for the world and Daniel Smith is handling him at Oaks Sat. night. This Dog had either 5 or 6 straight wins before he lost a hunt let alone a cast. Last weekend Troy hunted two nights at two different clubs and won his cast both nights but got out scored by the other Nt. cast winners or else he would be hunting as a Gr.Nt. at AO. I owned this dog for a little while when he was young. Good looking, big head and a loud tree mouth. I plan on breeding my Pop A Top female to him her next heat cycle or my female littermate to Rock out of Arkie.

God Bless,
Troy

This is a Jimmy II and Broadaxe Max bred female I used to own. As hard and classy a tree dog as I ever had.

This is what you saw every time you walked in to her, no chewing, no running the tree, no nothing. She treed just like old Max.

She was easily the worst deer running dog I have had in years, probably ever. She would shut up and outrun a shocking collar.

But man, I did like the way the hussy could tree coon.

Darren,

He is getting some age on him, but when I hunted with him last winter, he could still get it done.

He is not what a lot of people think of when they hear "Bluetick."

The dog is super quick on both ends, and is absolutely a one bark tree dog that will not pull for any reason.

He was a big winner when they were campaigning him. All in all, he is impressive.

As for reproducing, he is putting some good young hounds on the ground. He seems to do especially well on Rambo II females.

As for his looks, pictures don't do him justice. He is a beautiful hound. He is also one of the smartest hounds I have ever been around. He minds like a Border Collie and knows a lot of different commands. He is the real deal.

Echo was a looker for sure.

I liked the Platte valley stuff better when it had something else with it, like Vanzant's Sam or something to juice them up a little.

Darrell has had some nice English hounds too.

He has one old dog with a lot of Keller's Mike right now that I liked pretty well. I can't recall what he called him, but he was sharp.

Yep. Do you remember T.C. Jones' Jr. dog? His dam was a littermate to the Jr. dog. His name was Blue Ridge Diamond Jim.
He was very fast on track, hot or cold.

To show I am not predjuice I will show a Hammer dog I owned back in late 60's-early 70's. That was many years, and a lot of hair ago. Most of my hair is turning loose, and the rest is turning gray. LoL!!!!!

Craig,

I know you can't judge an entire bloodline by one hound, but in general, how did this Hammer dog differ from the Smoky River stuff you were used to?
