To be exact Nova played in the final four in the 08/09 season which they did not make the championship game. They have been to the final four 4 times (1939,1971,1985, and 2009) elite 8 12 times( last being in 2006 and 2009 before that it was 1988) in 2011/2012 they didnt even make the tournament. They have been in the NIT 17 times. UK HAS WON MORE NATIONAL TITLES than Villanova has won conference titles. I REST MY CASE!!!!

UK didnt make the tourney 2 years ago either and lost 1st round of the NIT. And Villanova has always played in the toughest conference in basketball. The Big East of course titles are not handed out like they are in the SEC. When you play in a conference with the likes of Vandy, Mizzou, South Carolina, Miss State, Auburn, Alabama, and Texas A&M most your games are near guarantee wins every year. Weak conference paves the way for a favorable seed come March every year.

And last years Nova team could have made a nice run they were just unlucky to match up against the champs in the 2nd round.

While I will agree the SEC is definitely a football conference, it is also not given nearly the credit it deserves in basketball. On any given night there are several teams in the SEC that can compete and possibly win with most teams that are ranked in the AP top 25. Id be willing to bet LSU would beat Nova. Also Arkansas would beat Nova as well. And we ALL KNOW UK would beat Nova. Lets also not pretend the BIG EAST is the best conference in basketball this year either. My vote goes to the ACC. Again take the outside shot away from Villanova and there finished. If Nova makes the Sweet 16 Ill be shocked and you will hear about it. Arkansas and LSU beat Nova? Your truly delusional. You came to this conclusion how? By watching them beat up on division 1 bottom dwellers?

Nova is 6-0 against ranked teams.

Arky and LSU are a combined 1-3 against ranked teams. I don't know what's more pathetic there record against ranked teams or the fact that they have only played 4 ranked teams.

The Big East is going to get 6 out of 10 teams in the NCAA tourney. A better % then any conference. Like it or not they are the best conference.

Hoosier you never cease to amaze me with all your stats that dont amount to anything!! Does it really matter how many teams get in the tourney if only one or possibly two teams has half a chance at winning it if they are lucky. It doesnt matter if the Big East gets all 10 teams in the tourney if they dont have a chance at winning it. Nova doesnt even have a chance! I could care less if UK is the only team in the tourney out of the SEC! You was bragging about beating St Johns yesterday lets both be honest they blow. UK would drub them too

Tmichaels,

You say that all you have to do is shut down Nova from 3 right? Have you even watched them play a single game this year? I'm guessing no. How do you shut down a team that spaces the floor and has 6 guys that shoot the 3 at around 40% or higher on the season?

6 Guys that can hit 3s from NBA range that will pull up and hit at any time, add that with a true power forward and a true center and a gritty point guard and my friend you have a real powerhouse. Nova is the best team in the country this year. They can score on anyone and they defend as good as anyone.

Have fun stopping them.

We will see how that works out for them this year in the NCAA tourney! They will have something caught in their throat and start CHOKING!!! Year in year out same ole same ole have a good team all year and choke in the end. When was the last time they won a championship? 1985???? 30 years ago????????

You UK fans are always living in the past especially in your down years. Let's try to focus on this year.

I see the UK vs FLA game was another barn burner in the SEC. Must be nice getting to beat up on below average talent.

At one point UK and FLA were a combined 4-17 from outside. That won't get it done against top teams.

i agree it was a poor shooting day, but uk don't need 3s to win a game. But it sure helps to put some distance between teams when ur hitting good. Florida is a average team, been playing alright now the team is whole.

I would like to say that I do think UK is a top 10 team. They are a talented bunch there's no doubt. I just feel they are no where near the leval of some past UK teams. I just think they have benefited from a soft schedule and a very weak SEC this year.

How about those Nova wildcats? Big East championship bound! Providence played great ball and gave so much effort is just wasn't quite enough.

Ochefu for Nova had 15 points 13 rebounds and 5 blocks. Great game for the big man.

What about the NC/ Nd showdown for acc! I sure didn't expect auburn to get past lsu. I mean they got a good coach and shooters but sure thought lsu would thump them. Watch them beat uk! Lol

LSU should have pounded the ball inside. But when Mickey fouled out it hurt LSU. UK should have the size to overwhelm Auburn again. Last time we beat them by 30 or so. Auburn is making a good little run in the tourney but I don't see them getting past UK. I predict UK-82 Auburn-59
