If anyone is interested I have a litter of heavy Utchman bred pups down here in East Texas. The sire is my Grand Nite named slugger he is a Son of Grand Nite Utchmans So Blue Hornet, the Dam is a Grand pup to Hornet as well. These are my personel Hounds. I am not a salesman and am willing to give the Pups away papers and all when they are wiemed off their mother. My number is 9364336005. The pedigree on these Hounds is better than the junk most people try to sell.

Looks like you guys got some nice hounds with Uchtman blood in them. Since Allen has not been on here so much this thread has not had alot of attention. Lets keep up the interest in this fine blood that the Uchtman family has worked hard to keep going for more years than most can remember. Keep an open mind for what you like and never become kennel blind. The best breeders to move our blue dogs forward have always put new blood in whatever line they were promoting.

Great advice. I have read your posts for a long time and watched what crosses you have made with interest, you have a open mind and a fair opinion toward others. I enjoyed meeting you at the fall round-up and I would like to get up your way and hunt with you sometime this winter. On another note, you think you could get Rick Jordan to post a current photo of that female pup out of Cami? What a beauty!

I enjoyed visiting with you also. I will see if Rick can get a picture of his female. He also has a male of mine down there out of Logan and Heather. They are both down by a really good pup guy with an enclosed pen. I would like to see a picture of both. I will put a picture of my male on here that is a brother to Ricks female. They are out of Money and Cami. I call him "Big Hoss" he weighed 40 lbs at 12 weeks old. He has slowed down now and started to range out a little bit. Really nice mouth on him. I have my pup out of Boomin Jet and Annie down in Indiana at the same guy that got Ron Taylors Doc dog going for him. Hopeing to have some nice young dogs for the Spring.

Made another White River trip this last weekend and had a blast. Amy got some good work and showed good improvement. She is 13 months old and I like her and think she is going to make a nice hound.

Messed with my 11 month old pup some yesterday with a drag trying to get her to open up trailing with a pretty long trail. Cut her loose and off she went only whining some on trail. About 2 mins later she fell treed and nailed the tree I had run the scent up. (working on the treeing by sent not sight)

Well today when I went to work our animal control officer contacted me and said she had 2 coons and wanted to know if I wanted them. Well of course!!! Once I finally got off I decided that I was going to turn the biggest loose for the pup and save the smaller one to turn loose in a hunting spot. After convincing my wife who is not the biggest fan of walking around at night to go with me we loaded the pup up and off to the woods we went. Turned the coon loose and gave it about a 5 or so minute head start thinking it would climb the first tree it came to (city coons don't know what woods are) I gave my wife the pleasure of cutting the pup loose. Soon as the pup hit the track she opened up like she had done it her whole life. After about 10 mins of trailing for about 100 yards she fell treed. Walked to her and she had this big coon in the smallest tree you could imagine. Well being able to see the tree moving just excited the pup that much more. Let the wife (who was not as enthused as me about what was going on) have the pleasure of shooting the coon out. Two hits out of three weren't bad and to the ground the coon came. As I went to where I had the pup tied I noticed the coon was still very much alive(poor shot placement but it gets better) well the coon decided that it was not going down without a final run so off it went again. Let it get another head start since it was shot and turned the pup loose again. Well the pup started doing some sure enough trail barking this go around and after going another 200 yards or better(thinking she had been out smarted and came across a deer) we started her way. About halfway to her she let out a loud bawl then started chopping away. Got close enough to her I could see that she was hammering on another small tree and up at the top sat mr. coon again. Tied the pup up and let the wife try her luck on shooting him again( this time expressing the fact that bullets are hard to come by these days) pop out came coon with only a little fight in him but in no shape to run. Turned the pup loose and let her get some fur in her mouth.( walk back to the truck wasnt to bad shy of the wishing it was closer from the wife and the occasional stumble over tree tops which got a cussing from her).

Overall I'd say it was a pretty good training night for both and I sure did enjoy myself.

Blue boy

I have a male dog out of Albert again. Had him out for the first time. He went with my female for a little bit and came back. Hung out for a min.. she treed.. he made a b line towards her.. by the time I got there he was on the tree with her. I was shock.. not bad for the first drop in the wood with him. I think he just needs time in the woods.

Amy has been coming along nicely. She treed this old boar Friday night by herself. She trailed it through 2 sloughs and across a running creek. It was long and lean from the rut, with a yellow tint to his color. She will be 15 months old this week and pleases me with her personality and hunting. She is Amos x Magic.

Amy treed another one by herself Wednesday night. She struck on the edge of a slough and worked it down a 1/4 mile and treed it in the slough in calf deep water, nice long lean boar. Hunted her Friday night, made two drops where she made a nice loop without a bark. Made one last drop and she fell treed with a lay up. Another post rut boar laying in the first fork. She is almost 15 months and makes me want to go hunting.

NiteCh GrCh Uchtman's Blue Heather

Finished Heather last night with another first. It was far from pretty with 2 feet of snow and rained all night with temps from 34-37 degrees all night. But luckily at the end of the night she won the cast. She had 3 First place wins with scores of 650, 475 and 75.
