Hard to believe that 2 years has gone by already.....where did the time go? Tater sounds great Scott.

Had a great time at Grand American, but glad to be back home. It was a very nice event, we saw some new scenery, met a lot of nice people, and enjoyed visiting with friends. A speical thanks to the Andersons for putting up with us all weekend and to the nice guys and their families who shared their Chicken Bog with us.....it was very good! We enjoyed trying some good southern cooking Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

Finally happened, 18" of light fluffy powder today. Will see tomorrow if the boars are still out there running. In coon paradise (Wisconsin) does the deep snow slow them down?

Wondering if we need to wait until there is a crust on the snow before the coons start going again...

They move. But it's real sporadic. Wait a few days and try a day time hunt around water. You may get lucky.

I tell you what, in all the crosses that we've made so far, the Aubrey X Ann cross is by far our most favorite! The kids are doing great, John, and growing up fast. Tater is doing good and still getting carried around by Mom, though he is getting closer to walking. Abram is Dad's partner with hunting and he really likes riding mules. Nora likes taking care of the dogs and puppies, and is constantly trying to bench them. Dane is still just enjoying being Mom's sack-a-"Taters", but does try to play fetch with our Aussie.....the earliest I remember any of the kids doing that.

Man. Dane is getting big. A smile that lights up the room.
Lil A can bust brush with the best of them. We were out last fall walking thru some beans. All you could see was Abrams head. He just kept a moving. We get back to the truck and he had a handful of beans he had picked during the walk. It was pretty funny.

I was playing with the pups and hid a coon tail on low limb and let them play in the snow and it didn't take them to long to find it. It was funny watching them on there hind legs winding up in the tree and barking tree. They should be something special.

You will have to keep us updated on how your Chance pups do. We have a female out of that litter also. We haven't showed her any coon yet but she is a fireball. So far we have been keeping her in the house, Wow she has a mouth on her for a young pup!!
She chews on my daughters cat every chance she gets and he is nearly twice her size. We are excited and can't wait til she gets old enough to start treeing some coon.

Aubrey and Ann,
Just wanted to thank you for letting us hunt Dice this past fall. She really helped with training our pups (Georgia and Chief).
We got out and put a lot of coon on the ground in a short period of time.

Larry, the pups look great! Looks like you've got yourself a few that will tree coon! The one on the right is the spitting image of Ox. Keep up the good work with them!

Carl & Stacey, we like our Clyde X Chance pups real well too! They are good looking good acting pups, with a lot of go and grit. Should be some nice ones.

Matt, we were glad that Dice worked out for you. You guys did a good job with her, and it was good for her to be the lead dog for awhile. The pictures look awesome! You guys harvested a lot of nice coon this year! Keep up the good work with those young dogs.

Aubrey,

Can't take it anymore! It has been 2 or 3 weeks since we last tried going out hunting.
We're going out Tuesday or Wednesday night or maybe both.
It is supposed to be a high of 24 and a low of 14. I think Georgia and Chief can get 'er done.
I'll let you know how we come out.
If the outcome is good, you should come down Friday night and we will put up some big numbers again.
Ha Ha.. at least we will get some exercise

Aubrey,
Took Georgia and Chief out Tuesday night.
Conditions were really though.
We managed to get one coon.
It was the best feeling in the world to walk up to that tree in knee deep snow and see meat at the top with two young red dogs blowing the top off of it.
Here are some pictures.





Also showed Willow her first coon hide...think it went pretty well. I'll let you be the judge.

Awesome pics of the Mules loaded full of coon Aubrey!!! We haven't had the luck you have had finding the coon but we sure do try!! Here is a vid of our hunt tonight. This unlucky coon tried to bail out of one tree, but these hounds didnt let him get away and ran him up another tree close by!!
