Boy tonight's hunt was not what I was looking for. I thought the weather was great and a cloudy overcast would be a red hot night. We made 5 dumps and ran two short tracks. We treed another one on a persimmon tree and another one on a scrub tree and neither one went any where. Was hoping to get Doc on a few good tacks but after the dumps we made we are calling it a night.

We have had a pretty good start tonight so far. First dump they hit about 275 yards and treed about 450 and had one. Made them tree for a pretty good while, something new for Doc and he was a knocking it down until we go there. Second dump Riptide got in there right at 900 plus yards and hit and Doc went to him and they treed a second one of the night. One beautiful night for sure!

Having a nice little hunt so far tonight. We have made three trees so far and seen two coons and one den. Riptide got off by himself right at 750 yards and had one and Doc and Riptide treed together on the other two. Doc really shinned on the third one but them again the track was moving. Doc just turn 8 months old today.

Cory took Robin to the vet for check up and the Vet said Robin is going to have several and everything looks good. Robin weighed 61 lbs today and still has two weeks to go, she is getting big and eatting like a horse. Looking forward to this cross, feel the Ol gal has a lot to offer!

Nice night to hunt so far we have made three dumps and made three trees with coons. Only one time they had to go father than 500 yards but the one dump was right at a mile. Did not figure this as the temp dropped off and normally the first night or two it seems to me they don't move that well but tonight it seems everything is moving, seen deer, fox, ginners and coons.

Well our hunt did not go like we wanted it too tonight. We hunted the clear cuts because we know that very few if any will hunt them plus you normally tree some coons, lots of holes and dens. Our first dump Riptide treed with one and Doc was about 100 yards from him split treed. I had Corey go to Doc as there was no way I could get to him with my knees, lots of undergrowth and tree tops. Doc did not have his but he stayed and did a pretty good job of it! LOL! Got Doc off his tree and recut him and he treed between his first tree and Riptide and this time he had one! In going to him Corey got caught up and feel about 40 yards from me and twisted his back, he was done! I fired Doc's coon out to him (Great shot ) and the coon hit the ground a running. Doc ran it right past Riptide tree and let me tell you the fight was on. Last but not least Doc did not want to come out of there with the coon so we wait until he decided he was done. That will change with a little age and training!!

What is with this weather this year. Raining cats and dogs and now Tornado warnings and then call for temp to drop from around 60 degrees to ice, snow and freezing weather, 9 degrees and wind chill lower and all these changes in just a few hours.

Just got another solid heavy Jet breed bitch linned up to breed to Riptide. Will get the pedigree posted a little later along with a picture of the bitch. Pups will be U.K.C. per., PKC and CHKC Super Staked.

Made it a short hunt tonight. Made 5 drops and ran one track and made one tree. Made one drop out on a ridge and Doc was walking on his back legs and going wild, thought he was crazy and then turned Riptide out and out of they ran for about 750 yards and treed. They tapped about 4 or 5 times and then left out running hard. Did a nice job on the one. Dump Doc by himself twice and then Riptide to see if Doc did not run or if there was nothing there and Riptide did not hit either so I felt better.

Roy Robin had her pups and she is doing fine so far. Talk to vet and said we should be good to go. The next thing is we don't wonder where these pups will be ending up, they have found homes just after having them Christmas day. LOL! Will talk later!

One of our friends has a coming two year old bitch in line for Riptide and below is a picture of the bitch and the pedigree. These pups will be UKC Performance, PKC and CHKC Super Staked. If you have any questions just give us a call.

Took a hunt last night and coons were not moving that well. First Dump Riptide made about 875 yards circle and finally hit and treed, Doc went about 475 yards and made a small circle back and hit and tapped a few trees but never did lock it down! Second dump about the same but a little further. Riptide ended up treed right at 1.3 miles and Doc made it two about 650 and circled back to us. Drove around to Riptide and he had his second coon right behind a persons house, at least we did not get shot. Third dump was a little better, about 250 yards they hit and drove a track and treed about 125 yards from us. We took off and no more than I stepped into the woods my knee jumped out and I went down, had a hard time getting it back in and even harder time getting up and to the tree. While on the ground trying to get my knee back in we got to listen to them tree for about 25 minutes and Doc was sounding off. Did some more training, tied Doc up and popped it out to Riptide. We did not let Doc have it, maybe next drop he will push a little further! LOL! Doc will 9 months old Jan. 2nd.

Man I thought the coons where not moving the other night, tonight tops that. So far we have made four dumps and not one bark. One strip we followed them right at 2 miles in one section and nothing, there is water, corn fields and clear cuts. We know they have started rutting and thought tonight being a light rain and 45 degrees would be a perfect night but we seem to be wrong! Trying to get Doc some good tracks is seeming pretty hard to do right now. Anyone else having this issue?

Roy the pups out of Robin and Riptide are doing good. They have started on replacer and puppy food already and Robin is holding up great. They are not missing and meals! I finally broke down and seen the Doc again about my knees and took four shots in each knee. They are not good but can at least walk again and looking to get after it again this coming week.

Well after little over a week trying to get my knees back in line we hit again last night With Riptide and Doc, Doc just turned 9 months old and doing a pretty descent job so far. Still waiting to get him on some hard running coons and see just how fast Doc can move one with those long legs! We made two trees and see two coons with one being on the outside of a big old Den. It was a very good night, we seen a couple guys hunting last night and this is only the third time all year we seen or heard anyone hunting. Corey took some pictures but I guess he was too tired to post them, maybe today huh Corey? LOL!

Corey got the one video finally loaded and one picture. Photo Bucket has been real slow and you tube not much better! Doc does a little better each trip and that is what it is all about. A couple dumps a week so he has not been pushed. Doc has a pretty descent mouth and is still changing. Getting very good reports on his pups and mouth and treeing is not an issue! No coons hanging in these tree for Doc!

Thanks Roy! We did take Doc (9 months old) by himself again tonight and he did O.k.! First drop he hit at about 250 yards and treed about 525 but covered 1.49 miles prior to treeing. He rolled it like they are suppose too. When Doc hits a tree you know it, real nice locate and chop after that. Doc had the first one and we tied him up and made him tree a while and then let him have more fun that he wanted! Second dump was by a big lake and he was walking on his back legs before we ever got him unsnapped. Cut him and he nailed it pretty quick but he got a little too quick. Worked him about recasting him and he did pretty good without much assistance but never could take the track away from the area. Third dump nothing but some young yote hunters stopped and shot the breeze for a while since their dads coon hunt.

Not a stellar night tonight. Took Doc and made 4 dumps and only made one den and hit one track he could not figure out, tapped a few trees and moved on but never got the job done. One of those nights I guess but it will not be the last one hunting young ones.
