Superman

Hi,

Jeff and I rearranged the Sid and Sister puppy pen Friday night. We went hunting about midnight like always. We took Superman.

Went to a woods and turned him loose. True to form, Superman hunted into the wind. Superman worked a bad track and treed in a huge den tree.

We pulled him off and went further down the branch. Superman struck and ran a track about half a mile and treed it in a doze pile. Sometimes he will stay in a doze pile and sometimes he locates and comes back.

Tonight, he came back. Trotted by us never stopping and continued down the branch. He opened, about 5 minutes later he opened again, about 7 minutes later he opened again. He just kept working that terrible track down the branch, opening every 5-7 minutes. After about 30 minutes, Superman came out with that scream,"come get me". I was froze. I had not put on enuff clothes. Jeff went on to the tree. Mr Coon was there in a fork. Safe and sound. Superman reminded me so much of a little hound who could run those terrible tracks and tree the biggest boar coons you ever saw, 41 years ago. If Janie opened, sit down, she was going to tree that track and you would see the biggest coons you had ever seen. Gr Ch Starke's Finley River Jane was death to a coon. She was one of the coldest nosed hounds I have ever followed. She didn't stand on her head. She moved that track, no lose, tree the coon every time... no matter how cold, no matter how moonlight, no matter if it was frosty, frozen ground, or snowing. She is where my hounds of today get their nose and brains to tree those terrible tracks and have the coon... not a blank tree.

Janie was a daughter of Nt Ch Gr Ch Jackson's Finley River Tom and Gr Ch Bennett Springs Sugar. Tom was the son of Dual Gr Ch Finley Dan 3 and a GR NT Ch Finley River Joe female. She was also a Gr Nt Ch, her name was Candy. Sugar was a littermate to Gr Nt Ch Bennett Springs Bandit and Dual Gr Ch Finley River Banjo. Bandit was owned by Bud Pantry and finished 4th in the UKC World Hunt. Finley River Banjo was Hall of Fame. Sugar's daddy was Gr Nt Ch Gr Ch Finley River Sonny. Sonny's daddy was Gr Nt Ch Finley River Dan. Sugar's mother was Gr Ch Mears Banjo Babe.

When I bred Janie to my Dancer, Trap was born. Dancer was a son of Dual Gr Ch Finley River Dan 3. I line bred all my dogs back to Trap, which linebred them to Janie and Dancer. Janie died that winter after I sold Trap. I would have never sold Trap, if I knew her mother was going to die. Trap was treeing squirrels and staying til I got there. She was so little, I had to pick her up and carry her home.

Superman

Hi,

Superman has 2 first place wins and needs a cast win to finish. He was the 2017 Mid-Mo Coonhunters Hunt Series Champ. Superman has achieved this with limited hunting. He is the real deal. His daddy, Gr Ch Starke's Finley River Iron Man will die here. He is a reproducer, like his daddy, Gr Ch Finley River Zig HTX.

Jeff and I have had fun hunting these old Finley River dogs, that some people say just have "showdog blood". Joke is on them.

PS FYI: Fool from LA, Even John Monroe hunted this "blood" back when he advertised Zoom as Finley River Joe's replacement. His ad is in the American Cooner March or April 1995.

This statement is not meant to start anything. I have said that in an earlier post. If John Monroe wants to stud or advertise his dogs that is great. They are his dogs. He buys the dog food. I am not in any competition with John Monroe. But, don't call me or flap your gums about me only having show dogs. I have good looking dogs that have big mouths, that run and tree real live coons and they don't have to drag race a mile before they strike a coon.

Some of Roger Prater's dogs go back to Trap,Trap's littermate,Radar, and old Zoom. They all came from a cross I made from Janie and Dancer many, many, many years ago. Don't take my word for it, call and get records from UKC.

I never did advertise. Now that I have started advertising, people have no idea where I came from or think it is just a hoax. Call UKC and get the pedigrees. It is all in black and white. I have been in the background hunting my hounds, all these years.

Sister and Sid pups

Hi,

All pups sold. Not advertised. Word of mouth. My pups speak for themselves.

I have some nice crosses coming up in the summer. I have one being made next week. Zippy will be bred to Ole Major.

These pups should have big mouths, tree coons... their looks should knock your eyes out. Old Major is as loud as hounds get. Call 573-819-1531 and I will send you a video, lol.

Zippy is out of City and my Sheba, City is all linebred Red Eagle Dick. Sheba is all linebred Nite Hawk. A little Lipper thrown in. Red Eagle Dick and Night Hawk both go back to Finley River Dan. Major is out of a PKC World Champ and a sister of old Ziggy's, back to old Zoom.

PS For the younger guys that have never heard of GR NT Ch Finley River Dan, he is in the Hall of Fame. He finished 6th in the ACHA World Hunt and, he is the best reproducing son out of Hall of Fame Nt Ch Finley River Chief, the cornerstone of the Treeing Walker breed, according to several hunters.

The ACHA World Hunt was the only World Hunt for years. It usually drew between 600-700 dogs, the middle part of October to Van Wert, OH to compete on THREE HOUR CASTS for the World Championship, in mid to late October, in cold temperatures, with no leaves on. Dan finished 6th in the 1970 ACHA World Championship.

Finley River Lightning

Hi,

Jeff is now starting to hunt a pup out of Starke's Finley River Tuff. Tuff was running and treeing coon when he was 7-8 months old. Roger Rowan bought him from me when Tuff was a 6 month old puppy. I had no intentions of selling Tuff. Roger bugged me until I priced him. I priced him for more money than any 6 month old pup is worth, but Roger bought him.

Roger had some misfortunes and the dog got away from me and then several kids ended up with him before Mike Warlick located him and called me. I finally got him home. He was a beautiful pup and now he is a beautiful dog. He goes back to Rambler 3 times and Finley River Chief about 140 times.

I bred Tuff to Tanna, a littermate to Iron Man. Tanna is LOUD, she can fly on a track, and she is an accurate solid treedog.

Sister, John Henry, Lightning, and Dan were baying, treeing, or running and treeing coons 5.5 -6 months old. I have Sister and John Henry here. Beautiful hounds like their daddy. Lighning is at Jeff's and I will soon have Dan back. All these dogs have big mouths and very intelligent.

Call Jeff 660-888-1717 and ask him about the first few nights he hunted Lightning. Jeff stated that he could not hardly stand to stay under the tree with Lightning. He was hurting Jeff's ears. Boys, I don't blow smoke about my pups. They speak for themselves.

American Cooner

Hi,

You can see stud dog ads on Sid, Preacher, Jake, Iron Man, Tuff, Major, and Superman in the DEC, JAN, FEB, MARCH, APRIL, and MAY issues.

These dogs are reproducers or will be reproducers. I have no doubts about them.

I have pups out of my females every year.

I breed outside females once in awhile.

If you want to see pics or videos of my dogs, just call 573-819-1531. I can send to your phone.

My pups speak for themselves. Don't take my word for it. You can go hunt with them, or call their owners (I have their phone numbers).

Superman is turning into a consistent, same dog every night Coonhound, can tree any type of coon, and will stay treed. Not trashy and never has been. We like him.. have lots of references from real Coon Hunters.

Nt Ch Starke's Finley River Superman HTX

Hi,

Superman finished his Nt Ch degree by winning the hunt at Roanoke, MO sponsored by Mid-Mo Coonhunters. Superman scored 350+ and 225 circle. Superman was High Scoring dog.

Superman earned his title with three 1st place wins being High Scoring dog each time out. He earned his degree during late fall and winter. No leaves on.

Thank you Jeff and Charlie for believing in my breeding program and hunting Superman. When Superman was a few days old, I held him and talked to him every day. When he was about 10 days old, before his eyes were open, I whispered to him that I was going to name him Superman and he would have big shoes to fill. I think he listened to me. He has made me smile several nights. He is a coon dog.

Gr Ch Starke's Finley River Iron Man is his daddy. Gr Ch Finley River Zig HTX is his granddaddy. They can/could tree rough tracks in winter conditions or throw their heads up and tree laid up coons night after night.

PS Superman won his HTX degree, 2017 Mid-Missouri Club Hunt Series Champ,and NT Ch degree with limited hunting. He was not in the woods night after night. He was not at a hunt every weekend. He was a natural... like his sire, grandsire, great grand sire, great great grandsire, great,great, great grandmother, and his great,great, great, great grandmother. I know what these dogs will do before their born, because I have raised most of their ancestors for several generations. I have had the same linebred hounds for 43 years now.

Iron Man pups

Hi,

Jimmy Adkins and Billy Joe Nelson bought Iron Man/Randi pups. They have called back to say how smart they are. That they mind better than their kids. That they act like old dogs. They have LOUD, roaring mouths. I hear those same comments every week. I have several repeat pup buyers.

Hi,

I got a call Friday night on the way to hunt with Jeff Wyatt. We were going to hunt Superman, Lightning, and Tanna. The call was from Hershal Eller from Indiana phone 219-992-9196. He wanted to buy Superman. I told him Superman was not for sale and would die here like all my dogs.

He proceeded to tell me his futile search for a real coondog. Everybody had a world beater and when he went to try them out, these dogs were not capable of treeing a coon. As many as 7 slick trees in a row.

I won't mention the top name stud dogs all these young dogs were out of. I have heard the same thing over and over. You want summertime dogs, the message board is full of them. Same old modern day breeding.

Want a coondog? Try an old linebred Finley River Dan bred pup.

My dogs

Hi,

I raise coondogs. I don't raise competition dogs. The very word is a turn off for me. Can you take my dogs and hunt in the hunts?

Take them and see. Superman is a second to 4th strike dog. He is honest. He is not a babbler or strike when you cut loose until some dog trees. Try to locate ahead of him. Try getting treed with a real live coon before he does. He is a powerhouse coonhound every night all night.

References from real coon hunters as Jeff says.

Nt Ch Starke's Finley River Superman HTX

Hi,

Update on Superman. He won three 1st place wins to earn his Nt Ch degree, being High Scoring dog each hunt. This was accomplished during the winter with no leaves on, moon up bright, and cold, frosty conditions. He is a powerhouse coondog. Notice I didn't say competition hound. They are totally different.

Superman is a coondog that opens honest on a coontrack, not a babbler or automatic strike dog. He doesn't run for a mile before he starts hunting. He has an outstanding nose and is a tremendous locator. Superman does not need a track to tree a coon. He is a layup artist. He is a first treedog with the coon in the tree... not blank. His daddy is Gr Ch Starke's Finley River Iron Man.

Several references of real coonhunters, as Jeff says. They will be listed in his American Cooner ad.

Superman will be bred to approved females only, $500.

Pups

Hi,

Pups are $400 a piece with a $200 deposit. That is the only way they are sold. Most litters are sold before they are born. Once in awhile I have 8 pups instead of 6. I will advertise them, if I want to sell them.

Or, I keep them. I sell them when they are older or they stay here. These pups will be priced according to ability, mouth, confirmation, and color. $750 and up.

Nt Ch Starke's Finley River Superman HTX

Hi,

Superman and Jeff attended the Mid-Missouri Coonhunters Club Hunt Sunday night. Superman scored 225+ in the 1 hour hunt. He treed another coon on the outside 4 minutes after deadline.

It was a good hunt. Well attended. Superman was High Scoring dog.

Starke's Finley River John Henry

Hi,

Little John Henry has been treeing since 5 months old. He ran and treed his first coon at 5.5 months old as did his littermate, Lightning. I didn't take a video/audio. I am terrible about that stuff.

Lightning was taken out for a walk one night to stretch his legs. He was gone like a shot. He struck in and treed a coon in a brush pile. Josh Hoffman, phone 217-257-0107, owned him at that time and I have a video/audio on track and tree. Lightning is owned by Jeff Wyatt now, 660-888-1717. Call Jeff.

Starke's Finley River Dan was treeing cage coon at 6 months old. He will be home soon. Jonathan Shepard, phone 832-314-1434, owned him at 6 months old. I have the video/audio.

Starke's Finley River Sister was treeing squirrels, cats, birds. Anything over her head before she was 5 months old. Once again, i did not take video/audio. I had the pleasure of just watching and listening to her blow the tops out of those little trees in the front yard.

What do these littermates have in common, besides running and treeing, and treeing at an early age? They have absolutely, Awesome, Loud, HUGE mouths. Call Jeff Wyatt, 660-888-1717. Call Randy Ward, 740-319-3752. Or me, 573-819-1531.

Starke's Finley River Tuff is their daddy and Starke's Finley River Tanna is their momma. See a connection, lol?

PS They will be here until they die. They will be buried with their ancestors right here on the farm, under the big burr oak tree.

Hi,

Effective immediately. The stud fee on Iron Man is $500 with a negative brucellosis test at time of breeding, to approved females only.

Nt Ch Starke's Finley River Superman HTX

Hi,

I have purchased Superman from Jeff Wyatt 660-888-1717.
Jeff and I hunt together, raise pups together, partner on some dogs together. He will be home in a couple of weeks probably. Thank you Jeff for hunting Superman in the hunts. I don't hunt in the hunts anymore. I can think of several things I had rather be doing.

Superman"s stud fee is $500, to approved females only. Current Negative Brucellosis test.

Hi,

Want to know about my pups? Call Randy Ward, Zanesville, OH. Ask him about his Sid/Sister pup... a radical treedog. She is still a baby. Ask him about Starke's Finley River Dan. He will break your ear drums and have a coon treed before you get bug spray and your light on. Or, he will strike out of the dogbox, lol. Phone 740-319-3752.

Nt Ch Starke's Finley River Superman HTX

Hi,

Superman won the club hunt High Scoring Dog at Fayette Sunday night in the rain. 200+ no minus. 1 hour hunt. Superman had struck in before time ran out, he treed his second coon on the outside about 10 minutes after time was up.

He is leading the club hunt series championship at the moment and Jeff took home some more prize money.

Good old dependable Finley River Dan blood. Tree those old rough tracks, while other dogs pull up on slick trees.

Iron Man

Hi,

I plan to breed Iron Man to his half sister, Little Lill this summer. She is also out of Gr Ch Finley Zig HTX. Her mother was my Gr Ch Nt Ch (3 wins to Gr) Wild Bill's Lill. A daughter of Dual Ch Durbin's Rambler. Iron Man's mother was Starke's Finley River Ramblin' Jane. She was a daughter of Dual Ch Durbin's Rambler. Lill and Jane are half sisters.

I also plan to breed Starke's Gr Ch Finley River Trap to Iron Man this summer. Iron Man is a son of Finley River Zig HTX. Trap is a daughter of Zig's littermate sister Dual Gr Ch Finley River Crystal. Trap is a nice
coon dog. Smooth as silk tenor bawl mouth you can hear on those cold frosty nights forever. You don't have to run boys, sit down and drink a cup of coffee, amble on into the tree. She will be wagging her tail, happy to see you... make sure to load the .22, mister coon will be there.

These pups will make coondogs. Tired of buying modern day dogs that can't run a track, not enough nose to get to the right tree? Try a Finley River Dan hound.
