It was beautiful here yesterday, we rode for 6 hrs.
We've been doctoring dogs. Ruby must have poked a stick in her butt Saturday night when we had her out. Dandy did something to his tail on Sunday night when Chuck had him out....he couldn't/wouldn't hold it up. And Seven has a hot spot we can't get to heal. So they all went to the vet on Thursday.
He gave us steroids and an antibiotic and antibiotic salve for Ruby, an anti-inflammatory for Dandy's bruised tail and an antibiotic and a spray for Seven. Everybody seems a little better already. Our vet couldn't get us in for 2-3 wks, so we tried a new one. He got us in, in 2 days!

Poor 🐯, too bad they didn't get to tranquilize him.
We went to the courthouse today and got our furbearer license and bobcat and fisher permits. Haven't seen any fishers, but a bobcat crossed the rd in front of us last wk.

You're about 6.5-7 hrs from here, Corky. We drove 4.5 hrs a couple of wks ago and Dandy wasn't happy. How's Charlie Brown doing?
R dogs are doing better. They're almost done with their drugs.
Rob is probably practicing retirement again. 😉

Corky, he's really growing and is super cute.
Got home from the Mercer bench show tonight and had a message on the answering machine....Chuck won $500.00!! Timing is perfect, I have a free room at the the casino this wk, and those free rooms never end up being free.

Took another quill out of Dandy this AM. Still think he has some in his mouth because he tries scratching at it. The vet said if she didn't get them all, they should bill out....hope so.

Well, Irma calmed down some before getting here. Lot of pecans lost but not near the trees lost as would have been if she had hit like forecast. Lost 1 in my yard but no structure damage. Friend lost his grain elevator. Cotton is blown and twisted, gona make it tough picking but the majority of the crop should be saved. Peanuts are for the most part still in the ground (next week most will start plowing up) and not hurt. Early questaments is 30 to 35% of pecans lost.

Love pecans...just bought a lb bag today for about $10. Glad ur ok.
Heard on the news that OJ will probably see a price increase because a lot of the orange crop was lost.
When we picked up the $500 that Chuck won, the people in charge of the raffle gave us permission to hunt raccoons on their property. Have a couple of new places this yr. The worse thing is we've talked to at least 3 guys that are getting back into trapping.😞 We've had dogs caught in # 1.5 and 2 traps, but these guys will be trapping for coyote, too; so they're probably using 550's. Not sure what that will do to a dog's leg....hope we don't find out.
Corky, that's great u don't have porkies...they're nasty critters. Wish we didn't, but there's a bunch here. They were protected here for awhile.
We had fried grn pepper rings tonight. Didn't use ur recipe, Corky, but seeing it on here made me want to try it. We bought something at Walmart that a friend recommended for fish. Only thing is we grabbed the spicy by mistake and it was a little too warm for us.

Chuck got 2 more quills out of Dandy yesterday 😞 Hopefully that's the end of them. Hoping he doesn't have any tooth problems from this. The vet said they were broke off between his teeth and she had to cut some out.
Porkies aren't protected here anymore, but there are months u can't kill them.
Had Ruby back to the vet on Saturday. She cut her paw and hadcto get 7 stitches in it. We had 3 out of 4 dogs wearing cones on their heads. Dandy got his off today.

I PUT PORKIES IN THE SAME CLASS AS SNAKES, WHAT GOOD ARE THEY. I BELIEVE HERE IN MD THEY ARE PROTECTED. MOST HOUND HUNTERS DO NOT FEEL THAT WAY . LETS SAY SOMETIMES THE PORKIES ARE RELOCATED AND THAT THEY ARE IN A BETTER PLACE.

What I saw of it, it was an interesting video. Got a message part way through that it couldn't be played. My BIL worked in NC on a hospital construction job. He really liked it there.

Rob, we took Dandy out the night before last looking for porkies. We drove 7 miles out our rd, turned around and came back. We saw 6 porkies. Hopefully, the drunk campers will run over a few on the wkend.
