HUNT

Hunted for a while last night. Coons must have stirred early. We cut Rock loose alone and he got 300yds in bottom and struck a sorry track. He drifted and opened sporratically going down the bottom. He trailed about 900yds down the creek and loaded up right on a tree. It was the best I've heard him go on a tree since I've had him back. He treed hard and was happy to see me when I arrived. We looked the tree but couldn't find his coon. Huge oak tree that ran into two more bay trees. I cut Cotton loose and she hit a sorry track as well and headed to DEEP water. She moved the track out well but soon was in a mess. She trailed within 150 yds of a field and I soon walked in and called her out. We got a late start and Drake has a football meeting early this morning so I got him home. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

HUNT

I didn't get to go last night but Drake took ole rock with a couple other young guys. I talked to him this morning and he said the other two dogs made a couple slick trees while Rock was trailing down the creek. I think he ended up just catching Rock and calling it a night.

Gerald, I am going to stay on them for sure.

(PR Southern Blue Hardwood Dolley)-
I am getting Dolley back from a gentleman and his son today. I sold her to them nearly a year ago. They were just getting into coonhunting. I tried to get them to just go with us for a few weeks but they were sure they wanted to coonhunt. Dolley has been hunted about 5 times in nearly a year. I will tune her up and she will be for sale. She is not a world beater but will tree a coon. She is a good looking , dark blocky headed gyp. She has an average mouth and is a good clean tree dog. She doesn't hunt well alone and will leave her track to back a dog treed. Her sire is GrNtCh PR Big Time Albert and her dam goes back to Jaggs and Hornet. NtCh PR Seidlings Blue Star is in there, which is a littermate to Dual Grand Washburn Valley Drip.
She has a first place win in UKC.She is 3yrs old. She will be priced at $600. I will officially put her up for sale when I tune her up some. Yall Keep'em Lookin' up!! Darren

Hunt

Went up to Terry Tibbs place last for a hunt. I took Rock and BB. Terry took Diva and his young male out of Razor. We cut Rock and Diva first. Diva struck followed by Rock and Diva treed. Rock went on to the left. It was a huge tree and we thought we seen the coon a couple times but never for sure. Cut her to Rock and Tock loaded up. Diva went to him but was split when we got there. Both had a coon. Next we cut BB and Goofy. Goofy is Terry's young dog. They struck deep and drove a track over 1000 yds. We walked forever but finally got to them. They had a coon and another coon sitting a tree over. We cut those two again and BB struck and Goofy followed. BB soon loaded up and Goofy backed her. We found her coon but goofy had moved on up bottom. We caught him up and called it a night. I got in at 4 am this morning and gone hit it tonight. Y'all keep'em lookin up. Darren

Hunt

I had a couple guys come last night to try out a dog of my buddies. He had to work so I took them hunting. Molly is the gyp I sold David Gilbert. Molly treed a coon on first drop and they took her home. I cut Cotton alone. She went about 700 yds and struck a bad track. She worked the track out of the hills and into a slash bottom. She soon loaded up and treed. We finally got to her and she had the coon. We seen two more coons sitting up. Called it a night. Y'all keep'em lookin up. Darren

I really enjoy the hunting dialog on Cotton. I never hunted with Cottons mother but she sounds just like Logan. It is the same as many of the stories I hear on Logans other sons and daughters. Granted that they all don't make it out of any Sire but I always look for a "pattern" of type and style to see how dominant a reproducer is. More and more are starting to realize that Logan has some value in his ability to reproduce complete coon hounds. After he is back up in Wisconsin he will be bred to a few top females every year until he no longer can. Looking forward to his offspring also reproducing complete coon hounds. Thanks for all of your help while Logan has been down in Alabama in getting him hooked up with some nice females. It takes a real hunter such as yourself to recognize the good and bad in hounds and I appreciate that.

Thanks Scott. I really enjoy hunting Cotton. I have been offered a lot of money for her but she isn't for sale. I have bigger plans for her. She is turning some heads and a lot of them are the walker boys. I am going to dual grand her and she will be the staple of my breeding program. I don't think you can go wrong as a breeder by starting with good females. Thanks again for all you have done to help me. Darren

HUNT

Picked up my Blade dog Friday from Terry Tibbs. He is a dead loner and will not be with another dog. He is 17 months old and I am about to see what he has to offer. He has went thru a couple of bad spells but maybe we have worked thru them. He is about to see the Timber alone for the next several weeks. I also got the Dolly gyp back out of GrNtChPR Big Time Albert. I will tune her up some and see what she can get done. She will be for sale. I am going to hunt Cotton alone for the next few weeks and may hit the St. Jude Benefit hunt with her one night. BBOA Alabama State Championship hunt is this Saturday. I won it in 2001 with GrNtChGrCh PR Southern Blue Moonshine. I am planning on going and hunting Cotton. Good Luck to all bluetickers in the spring hunts,

HUNT

Went for a little while last night. First drop I cut Blade alone. He wheeled around and cut up a logging road. I waited a little while and cut Dolly loose. She hunted good and soon struck about 275 yds in the bottom. She trailed over 500 yds and loaded up treed. We got in to her and she was on a huge den tree. Next drop I cut Cotton alone and she struck at about 200yds and moved left about 150 more and loaded up. I got nearly to the tree and heard some more dogs come into her tree. It was a den tree as well. 2 walkers and a redbone came to her. I waited on the owners and informed them they didn't have permission to be there as if they didn't know!!LOL Next drop I cut Cotton and Dolly. They skipped out on me and were soon over 1000yds. I moved around and heard them trailing in the bottom. They moved the track across the bottom and I pulled around to the other side. I got out of the truck and heard them treed solid. I got the the tree and it was a huge tree with a big nest and some type of evergreen leaves and vines all in it. I couldn't get him to look. I called it a night and rolled in at about 12:00. Coons didn't seem to stir too well here last night or they stirred really early.
Dolly was a pleasant surprise last night as she hasn't been hunted much over the past few months. She did a good job alone on the tree she made.

Drake and his buddy went last night. Got down to 23 degrees here last night. He took BB and Dolly. First drop they all left out and just blowed up on a tree. He said it was slick. Next drop they went over 700 yds and worked a bad track and treed. Got in there and it was a den tree. I will be back at it tonight. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!! Darren

Darren ole Stroker treed a coon in a horse barn last night. he is starting to really look good he has treed a coon last 3 hunts in a roll.

Mickey I am glad he is getting it done for you. I hunted with his brother Friday night. Terry Tibbs is hunting him. He did a good job Friday night. My Blade male is coming back around but still has some problems that I am trying to get worked out. Hopefully Stroker will continue to progress for you. Darren
