Tim, robin aint lookin to run, shes lookin to get treed. While other dogs are rumnin she'll make her way to the edge and get hooked up. I don't know where she gets these traits? Wherever the water holes are at around the corn theres coon settin up. An older man once told me a good coon dog dont have to track and bump their head into a tree to find a coon. Just cant remember who it was. Lol. but your right they get on hot smart one it can be dangerous.

Hey guys she aint done huntin yet. She still has a few hunts to go to before we decide on what stud to use. Although we are putting together a list of potential suitors. Still wont be till late this fall or next sping before she will be bred.

Thanks for all of the congrats on Robin makeing Grand Night.

Thanks for the kind words about robin.

We treed a couple last night. Tonight I went huntin with taylor kellarman from centerville. Hes got a smoke female he calls hic, shes out of smokes oldest litter. 9 months. we made two drops and she ran track and was at both trees. Treed pretty good for never seein a coon. Second dump was a good track and she did exceptionally well. Shes not afriad to swim the river and doesnt just me too the dogs around. He's fired up to keep her progressing. She's got a lot of natural stuff to work with. He won't part with her either. Lol

Right now we are roadin smoke, and hunting robin with the young dogs. Got a female out of whacker thats running and treein good. Needs more time before singled out. But will be a coondog. Im helpin taylor k with his smoke female, Hic. Shes turnin on, we showed her a caged coon last night and she hates it. Shes runnin track good and wantin to tree. Looks like shell be pretty independent too. havent seen a pup that ypung with that much smarts and natural instints since robin. Hic will turn 9 months the 22nd. Got a couple of other young pups waiting for their light to come on.

Tim, after he fell at the Show Down it took about a month for him to heal up and then it was getting really hot. We hunted him a few nights and then just concentrated on some pups. Like Timmy said we are roading him and just acclamating to the super heat wave we are in. He,s on his way and will be back in the hunts in August.

Went with brownie and taylor k from centerville last night. First dump we turned loose robin, kash [brownies black male], and hic ( taylors smoke pup). They tracked around the river a while robin went west pups went east. Pups got treed and robin got treed 400 yds to west. Both young dogs were treeing hard along rivet bank. They had a big coon, I squalled him down about 10 ft from the ground but he jumped 30 ft down in the river and made a clean get away. Robin had her coon. Turned kash and hic on big creek. They ran one about 500 yds and treed in a big wooly tree. Couldnt find him but sure couldve been there. Taylor just found out he got a job in blackwell ok. So he,s gonna leave hic with me for a while. I think I might have her ready for the hunts at 12 months. She can run a track well, got a nice locate and starting to really tree hard. Cant wait to promote a pup out of smokes first litter.
