Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mat 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

As we read the above scripture Jesus asked his disciples a very important question. Whom do men say that I the son of man am? Today the world is asking questions and as Christians we must be ready to give an answer and make sure it is the correct answer. Ask yourself who Jesus is, but don't just ask it when you are in the comforts of church but out in the world when it isn't as easy to be a Christian. Sure each and every one of us can testify in church about our precious saviour but sometimes at work, a coonhunt, or anyplace we are not as fast to stand up and say who Jesus is. You see even back then the world had plenty of answers as to who Jesus was. As we read the above scripture we see some say John the Baptist, Elias, Jeremias and the world today will have even more answers to give non believers. You see as Christians we must have the correct answer to the question who is Jesus. And look at what a reward as Christians is waiting for us in heaven. Jesus is going to give us the keys to the kingdom. So brothers in Christ please ask yourself this very important question and make no mistake that Christ is the one and only saviour. I heard someone say that 57% of Christians today believe that there is another way to heaven other than Christ. We cannot compromise our believes as Christians. THere is no other way to heaven except Jesus Christ. We often see today that the church is more willing to build bridges to keep relationships than confrotation to what is right. If the church is confused today its no wonder that the world we live in is confused. We have to start standing up and saying it just like it is and that is that Jesus Chirst is our Lord and saviour and that there is no other way. Remember it is easy to be a Christian in church but when it comes right down to the meat of the matter being a Christian in everyday life is really all that matters. How we change as we get older. On my parents farm there is an old weathered tobacco barn. Our neighbors say that is well over a one hundred years old. It is in decent shape but I can only imagine what is must have looked like when it was first built. You and me are alot like the barn but one day we will get a new body when we reach heaven the old barn doesn't have a redeeming saviour like me and you. One day our Lord is going to come and get us. And just like your eyes are blinking while reading the words on this screen, in the blink of an eye we will step off into eternity with Jesus. If you are lost you will be forever lost in hell in the blink of an eye. But you don't have to be lost in hell it is a personal choice that you make. It doesn't matter if you was alright and didn't do anything wrong or that you always plussed another man's coon even if there was only 5 minutes left in a hunt, if you don't accept Jesus Christ as your saviour you are headed down the wrong road. God bless and pray for one another and lets be about God's business and spread the good news.

How important is Christ in our life? Does he make it to the morning breakfast table, on your trip to work does he hear from you, or throuhgout the day do you ever thank him for his many blessings that he sends everyday. I know we all could do better in our daily walk with Christ and spread the good news of his salvation. Could you imagine your children going all day long without ever talking to you. We talk to Christ by prayer and I know I could do better myself and devot more time to thanking him for his wonderful grace. God bless and remember God loves you and that he is still in the saving business.

As many of you began a journey to a large coonhunt remember the above verses. Let us not argue over something that has no bearing on spiritual life. Remember if you say you are a Christian and then act like the rest of the world you have just possibly turned someone away from Christ. The devil will give the world enough ammunition without us helping him. I know I am guilty as anybody when it comes to falling flat on my face, but I know my saviour Jesus is always there to pick us up. But that does not mean we should not try and do better. Lets attempt to make this weekend the hunt that everyone can say "that is a christian man or woman". I don't know about you guys but when someone comes up to you and doesn't know you and says are you a Christian, or a Deacon or anything to do with God what a feeling. Let your lights shine this weekend and show the world just how wonderful our savior JESUS CHRIST is and let them know that he is the only way to heaven. God bless and have a wonderful weekend and take your family, friends, or anyone you can to church.

I saw this on another thread and thought I'd help Loren out.

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month.The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:

Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

Ihope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith.



We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredithand addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at thepost office. A f ew days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.



Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:




Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Pray for our children and youth as they start back to school. There is so many temptations that children have to endure now days that back as few as ten years ago we didn't. Look up to heaven and thank the good Lord for another day. I had a wonderful weekend I was officaly voted in as a deacon Sunday at church. What an honor to serve the King of Kings in spreading the good news about his kingdom. God bless and have a wonderful day.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredithand addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at thepost office. A f ew days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.



Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith , ' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:




Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.

By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

Well it has been raining two days in NC. We have been praying for rain and the good Lord always provides what we need. I look back and I think of how many times we get in a hurry and want things when we ask for them. Isn't it wonderful to know that God is always in control. I mean he never makes a mistake, never chances anything, and he always knows what tomorrow will hold. I seen my children asleep this morning when I left to go to work and I am so thankful for God and his love. He has blessed me more than I deserve and I am grateful for his love and his grace. Just think about today and how many blessings God is pouring out on you and your family. Know this that not one of us are worthy of what Jesus did at Calvary, but he did anyway because he loves each and everyone of us that much. God bless and if you know Christ as your saviour you have already won the glory of God. If you don't you are lost and headed down an awful path, but you don't have to be. All you have to do is believe in Jesus.

Mat 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

Mat 26:15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

Mat 26:16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

As you read the above passage isn't hard to understand how someone could betray Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Just look at all the miracles that Judas had witnessed and how Christ had provided him with everything that he needed while he had been with him. But greed still overtook Judas and he sold not only Jesus out but his own soul for 30 pieces of silver. We should ask ourselves this same questions, because we continually deny Christ for alot less than the sum Judas did. We must get our minds off the worldly concerns and turn our eyes and hearts upon our Saviour. I know many times that I could have said something or spoke up for the sake of Jesus and didn't and it was for alot less than 30 pieces of silver. So let us not be like a Judas but rather let us stand boldly for Jesus and be a witness for him. As the weekend approaches take your family to Church on Sunday and see what a difference Jesus will make in your life. God bless.
