I will start a new thread for it in a couple of days. The UKC web master said the Sunfire thread is getting to big!
The Sunfire has been a very popular light for us, but we are always striving to improve what our costumers want. The only draw back to the Sunfire is its a little on the heavy side. and several have requested the color led. So this is what we have done.
It is lighter weight by 6 oz and has color led that you choose. Red amber or green. I have told many of you before that it takes a single led in a deep reflector to get real brightness. The problem with that is if you place a color led in the head with it you get a big black hole in the center from being out of focus in the reflector. So what I did was make an attachment for the bottom of the head that holds the color led separate. Eliminating the problem of being out of focus. I designed this color led different than everyone else so it will not be what you are used to seeing. It has 2 positions that you go backwards on the click switch to turn on. But even on high the color is a dim flood. Since it is a flood it is brighter in front of you for walking and looses it intensity when shined in a tree. It puts a very low glow over the entire tree that pics up eyes. I just did not see the reasoning in making it blazing bright. That is what the white light is for. The attachment is about the size of a nickel around and a 1/2 inch long.
The original Sunfire is advertised as a 50k lux light a lot of them will do 60k lux. This new one consistently does 55K and some do 65. So you are not loosing anything in brightness and gaining a color led and much lighter weight.
