KEN.

Our 1/2 brother 1/2 sister cross on Moon should be happening real soon.We are just waiting on River Runnin Dark Blue Dixie to come in.The male we are breeding her to is by Moon out of my Star dog. Both dogs are nice looking and they are real performers in the woods.

I'll let Carl tell you about Tombstone III. I hunted with him last fall, along with a nice pup out of him. He is big, but can fly on a track, got a big, loud "fog horn" mouth. Just what you'd expect from his breeding.
These should be nice pups!

I lost my Raven female last night. She had went down hill fast after loosing her pups last week. She was also one of my main coondogs. She and Bawler could really make some racket under a coon. I miss hearing them out there.
Carl Stewart, thank you for the opportunity to own such a fine hound! Keep up the good work.

Steve

I am very sorry to hear about Raven. It is a big loss to you and to the Bluetick breed. She was a super good looking female and a pedigree that is top notch.....

Tombstone III hunts well alone or with company he works a cold track well he opens here and there depending on the track he likes to drift this type of track ,yes he is a big hound with lots of speed and could run a hard run coon with or without company. He
is a bawl mouth track dog and a bawl mouth tree dog with a very good change over you will know when he is treed.I hunts a lot of swampland and cutovers its just woods to him. As for Daisy she did what Steve said she would with Tombstone III.

Sorry to hear about this loss Steve, I hope the text I sent ya brought ya up some, after that I cut em loose one more time and ol elvis shocked the heck out of me, He stayed treed with saddie, For those who dont know elvis has been torn up one side down the other by two different hounds of the same breed and they were not blue dogs either, it has taken me this long to get him to tree with another dog and last night was the start of puttin him in the woods with different hounds,

Steve i hope all is well and that new addition will help you attempt to to recover form this loss

DITTO! Really sorry to hear of another good blue dawg gone

We are sincerely sorry, Heather and Bob William

To all of you who get on this thread and post... some of these pix brighten my days more than you can imagine! I just LOVE the old fashioned houndy blues so much... as my pet bluedawg(we can't hunt here but have a couple pets) gets older and greyer...he's 8 now if I recall... I think of how much I'll miss his good looks...and more so his voice. His voice was the biggest reason he cam home with us (LOL) even as a pet... We can't imagine finding another pet of his quality... so I know the pix will have to carry me other the years till we can find a real hunting dawg of our own some day... I'm just the fussiest person as far as form and function... comes from my horse years... Sure I'll house an ugly old cull as a foster(and keep it as a pet if the time is right)...but my Wyatt (and being friends with Russ and his rather talented hunting dawgs).... have ruined me for good on the blue dawgs...
I guess what I'm saying is... I've been so grateful for all of you who post these pix, have shared your knowledge with us "nobodies"... and most of all for those of you who give a hoot about careful breeding, good linebreeding etc!

Just a BIG THANKS from a little nobody, Heather

Do you know of any breeders that have stuck with the Vaughns Blue Jack line of Vaughn dogs i mean concentrated on line breeding from that line

Wayne,
I am sure that Ken will agree about too many young dogs. The problem is that they are all males. I only know of one split nose female out of Sussie IV. She is very noisey. I sold some females off Heny V X Vaughns Fly up your way two years ago... That was a good cross... Fly was out of Billy II X Polly II....

Travis, Del Cameron's line is probably the most consentrated line-bred Vaughn's Blue Jack line I know of. Anything line-bred Tahsuda's Arkie will be Blue Jack as well. Although, most anything with heavy Arkie nowadays will have a lot of Vaughn's Mack or something else in them.
Come to think of it, the Mack line from Mack II on down, will also go back to Jack.

That is about the way I see it also..... I had alot of Blue Jack in my line early but I went in about the same direction that the Arkie dogs went....

West Virginia/Virginia Hunt

West Virginia split off from Virginia during the Civil War. Looks like they came together again on this hunt.... Here are some pictures.

From Left to Right; Bill Worley with Chloe Bleu, Chad Gregory with Blue IX, Kelly Witt with Kate, and Jeff Anderson with Beau....
