The Last Wish
An elderly man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite chocolate chip cookies wafting up the stairs. He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled down the stairs. With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven, for there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table were literally hundreds of his favorite chocolate chip cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself toward the table, landing on his knees in a rumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringing him back to life. The aged and withered hand trembled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife, "Don't Ernest!" she said, "They're for the funeral."

LOL......poor Ernest. Nice pictures, WB. It's so beautiful out west. Haven't been to Colorado, but took a trip from here to Washington state. We were only going as far as Idaho, but when we got there we decided to drive the extra hrs to visit his sister in Port Ludlow.

Rob, spring gobbler starts here April 29th. We saw a flock tonight on the way to see his mom.

Nice hearing from u, Heather.

We have a plan to win lots of guns this wkend. We have raffle tickets for drawings on Saturday with PA Trappers and on Sunday with Knights of Columbus.
Been cking out some of the other threads, couldn't keep up with the Redbone one What to Breed to...or something like that. It got poofed and I guess some guys are banned. BOYS WILL BE BOYS!!
Also reading post from a new member ....call me skeptical when a 14 yo has 4 dogs he buys Frontline for and his buddy had a dog that won a championship in 1999. Guess he must hang with older guys that have learned him to use GFY...at least he said sir.
Hope everyone has a good wkend.

Hi John.

Guess everyone must be enjoying the wkend and not posting or u were banned for posting nasty things on one of the threads.
We spent the wkend spending $ unwisely. Not really...we donated to good causes by buying losing raffle tickets. Visited Chuck's mom tonight and she said money is made to be spent..we try.

A lonely 70 yr old woman decided that it was time to marry again. She put an ad in the local paper that read: "Husband wanted! Must be my age group, must not beat me, must not run around on me, and must still be good in bed. All applicants apply in person."
The following day, she heard the doorbell. Much to her dismay, she opened the door to see a gray-haired gentleman sitting in a wheelchair. He had no legs or arms.
"You're not asking me to consider you, are you?" the widow asked: "you have no legs!"
He smiled and replied: "I can't run around on you."
"You don't have arms either!" she snorted.
Again he smiled "I can never beat you!"
She raised an eyebrow and asked: "Are you still good in bed?"
The old man leaned back, beamed a big smile and said: "I rang the doorbell, didn't I?"

An old Doberman starts chasing rabbits and before long, discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a panther heading rapidly in his direction with the intention of having lunch. The old Doberman thinks, “Uh-oh! I'm in deep trouble now!”Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the panther is about to leap, the old Doberman exclaims loudly, “Boy, that was one delicious panther! I wonder if there are any more around here?”Hearing this, the young panther halts his attack in mid-strike, a look of terror comes over him, and he slinks away into the trees. “Whew!”says the panther, “That was close; that old Doberman nearly had me!”Meanwhile, a squirrel who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the panther. So, off he goes. The squirrel soon catches up with the panther, spills the beans, and strikes a deal for himself with the panther. The young panther is furious at being made a fool of and says, “Here, squirrel, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine!”Now, the old Doberman sees the panther coming with the squirrel on his back and thinks, “What am I going to do now?”But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers, pretending he hasn't seen them yet, and just when they get close enough to hear, the old Doberman says …“Where's that squirrel? I sent him off an hour ago to bring me another panther!”■

Geez Corky, wish I would have thought of that before I bought them...maybe Dan would have let me borrow his horse shoe.
Hopefully we'll win something in this next raffle. It costs $208 to get into. Everyone gets a tshirt or hat, then there's a drawing every wk for 25 wks. At the end, even if u didn't win anything in the raffle, you get credit for $200 of merchandise. We have $ in there from last yr and will have this yr's. Might put it towards a gun safe or the call and rifle Chuck wanted for hunting coyotes.
Good joke, WB. I heard it yrs ago, but couldn't remember it until I got to the squirrel part.
Rob, did your wife have to get rods in her back where the bones were affected by the infection?.

GOOD MORNING ALL
47 HERE, CALLING FOR SNOW HERE ON FRIDAY.

WBOND,
GOOD JOKE.

REXRIDGE,
NO MY WIFE DID NOT GET RODS PUT INTO HER BACK, NOT YET ANYHOW. WHO KNOWS. THE INFECTION SHE HAD WAS CALLED OSTEO MYLITIS. GO TO WEB MD AND TYPE IT IN, DO NOT WORRY ON SPELLING. READ ABOUT IT. IT WAS TERRIBLE AND WE NEVER NEW ABOUT IT.

DANW,
SAW THREE NICE GOBBLERS WHILE RIDING AROUND YESTERDAY. PROBLEM IS THERE WERE NO TRESPASSING SIGNS, NOW IF I WERE NAMED BOND THAT WOULD NOT MATTER, BUT SINCE I OBEY THE LAWS OF THE GREAT STATE OF MD ( PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF MD ) I WILL NOT TRESPASS. TWO OF THOSE GOBBLERS WERE REALLY SPORTING LONG BEARDS ( PAINT BRUSHES ).

I know several people that have rods in their backs, some do better than others. One gal I worked with at the prison set the metal detector off every time she went through it.
I did look up what your wife had awhile ago. A couple of months ago, Chuck's dad's cousin stopped in to visit them when we were there. I couldn't remember what u said ur wife had or what he said he had now, but symptoms sound like they had the same thing. He had his infection in his neck. Was in real bad shape. Didn't know what caused his either.
We saw 3 gobblers this wk. One with 2 hens; he had a nice long beard. Two, we didn't see their beards because Dandy decided NOT to be a coonhound and chased them, later he went after geese and even found a possum!
Going pricing 6' kennel panels and brackets for them today. A woman has 10 for sale, she wants $25 ea for them, but doesn't have brackets to hold them together.

Highly Trained Parrot
A man goes into a pet shop and sees a beautiful parrot with a red string tied to its left leg and a green string tied to its right leg. "What are those strings for?", he asks the store owner. "This is a highly trained creature," the owner explains. "If you pull the red string, he speaks Spanish and if you pull the green string he speaks French."

"What happens if you pull both strings at the same time?" the man asks. "I fall off my perch, you idiot!" squawks the parrot.
