I thought I would share a few photos of a relaxing trip we took our children on for their spring break. It was filled with about every outdoor situation a person can get into during early spring including coon hunting.

The dog in the first two pictures below is a female owned by a friend of mine that is double Bullet and double Echo with many good hounds in between. She is very young and shows lots of promise.

Below is Snowman doing his thing on the same tree as above. They had two coon up this tree and one was really nervous. Being that we had two hounds not yet two years old and hardly hunted, four kids under the age of ten and my wife, we decided to squall the coon out. It worked out perfectly and the two young hounds did a good job on it as we kept Snowman on the leash.

As you can see below we took an easy approach with the 4-wheelers.lol. I bet we didn't take 15 steps in two nights of hunting. The picture quality isn't good but it will due.

Her sire is CH GRNTCH TWIN SPRINGS' BLAZIN BULL(bullet IIxbell) and Her grandmother on her bottom side was out of FCH GRCH GRNTCH VINING RUNNIN BULLET and our old NTCH TWIN SPRINGS PEARL female which was Echo and Smokey River on the bottom also.

Off the top of my head I can't remember this females grandpa on her bottom side.

I will be raising a litter from her soon. She is nice. You would think she had been hunted hard when you watch her go, but she has been very little. All natural.

I am probably drawing a blank on the scooter dog but I can't think of what they come from. You may post their names as a new thread on the "BLUETICKS" forum if you haven’t already and see if anyone can give you some info. Sorry I couldn't be of any help and good luck.

She will be bred to Blaze if he is still available. If not I am shooting for either Glide or Pellet, given I can get with their owners and get it worked out.

To answer your question, yes Bull and Pellet were littermates, so it would be a Uncle x Niece cross which would make the pups triple Bullet and Echo, but spread out over several generations.

If she is crossed with Glide, It will put the cross Echo was from in there twice also just from Glide's side. His grandmothers on top and bottom were littermate sisters. One being June, the other Leary. With Glide I would also be putting Smokey River Dancer in there which would put Chief in again, and would triple up on the Dancer cross due to Echo II's mother being a sister to Dancer.

Any which way I go I will be doubling and tripling up on some fine hounds of the past that were winners and reproducers.

Lee, If you decide to go with Glide, just let me know. I'll do whatever you need me to in order for you to get a litter out of him. He is doin good and settled in. I have been puttin a little meat on his bones since he got here. I've had him out once by himself, he treed 2 singles and a double in pretty short order. You can hear him about a half mile since losing his mouth last year. Some days it seems better than others.

My boys and I took Bullet II(Blaze) for a short hunt tonight and had a good time. It was his first night out in over 7 months but he looked real good.

I have never had to use a leash on Blaze, so as we were walking out and he followed, he tried jumping over a log and bless his heart he got high centered!LOL!! My boys and I were laughing so hard that I forgot I had a camera in my pocket. That would have made for a good album picture right there.lol.

All jokes aside, it is killing me seeing him age as he is. He just can't get around very good and I hate the thought of the day he passes. I have had him since he was born.

Thanks to all who have enjoyed him and his pups over the years.

"WHEELS"

he would have to be one of my all time favorites, I owned a hound out of him that would literally make your neck hairs stand up 1/4 mile away when he located (and he was stuck when he did), however, the first time I heard Blaze open in the yard he had the same effect. slept next to the ole dog and he will be greatly missed when he takes his trip. all I can say is "WHAT A HOUND"

He seemed to enjoy it. I need to quit taking him when I go because he can't even put his feet on the tree anymore when he tries. Its hard to leave one behind you use to hunt 5-7 nights a week, and he still has such a powerful beautiful mouth to listen to.

I wish you were closer also or I had someone I could have sent him to that would have been closer to you and others that were interested back then.

Thanks for the post.

Trashy no account Dog!!

I know that after you age some you get a little softer hearted. Blaze don't get the loving that he thinks he should have so he's decided to take up with Wilma!! Trashy dog!! Believe me, Wilma is the best mule that I have ever cinched up. They better get along, he's fixing to get drug through the pasters with her.

Lil was a top hound, but would walk you to death when hunted with other dogs getting by herself deep. Dad and I had her at our house from 1998 to 2001 and won a lot of hunts with her. You have a nice looking hound and with a nice pedigree there.
