Gr Ch Starke's Table Rock Jewell

Hi,

It is with great sorrow I pass Jewell's favorite sunbathing spot. Jewell passed away doing what she liked to do best on a warm fall day... sunbathing.

I will miss my old friend who met me everyday at the door with a paw up wanting me to shake hands and a lick to my knee.

I will remember her outstanding tracking ability, her stand on the wood style of treeing, her outstanding confirmation, her bright color, her outstanding wins at the shows.

Jewell had an unequalled head. Male or female, it was beautiful and the biggest head I ever saw on a female and a big percentage of male dogs.

To me, she was the epitome of what a dual purpose dog was all about. She was as perfect as they get.

My Mom always told me, death always comes in 3s. This summer was no exception.

Jewell, RIP old girl. Your Daddy sure does miss you.

Iron Man pups

Hi,

I hope people are enjoying their pups. I sure am enjoying Cozi. She started treeing about 4-5 months old and has an outstanding screaming mouth. Her brother, Superman, had as good a mouth as a 12 week old pup ever gets. I sent it to several people. I either got a WOW or no response at all. The "no responses" were the ones that made me smile, lol.

Zig is Iron Man's daddy. I only had 16 pups out of Zig. They are NICE dogs. I should have bred him to more females, but I just breed a certain type of hound to suit me.

Hi,

Thanks Cliff, Mike, and Jason. Females like Jewell are very rare.

Sage will make her own history. That is why I wanted her momma, Spot, bred to Whiner. That blood is nonexistent, except to some knowledgeable breeders.

Page after page of modern day bred dogs for sale. From 2 to 6 years old. Wonder why?

I appreciate Jason parting company with her. It will come back. Count on it.

PS Think about a pup who has Zig, Jane twice, Spot, Whiner, and Rambler twice on one side. The other side has Iron Man, Snitch, Zig, Jane, and Rambler twice... all up close. 4 times Zoom and 4 times Rambler. 8 times TRAP. WOW

Gr Nt Ch Finley River Dan 1970 ACHA World Hunt 6th place

Hi,

Just another Dan pup born, raised, took to the woods, doing what comes natural.

40+ years of raising the same kind of pup. Same looks, same big mouths, same results.

Finley River Chief had the greatest impact on the Walker breed and Gr Nt Ch Finley River Dan was his best reproducing son. Still impacting the breed, just like his Daddy.

I will have crosses with Finley River Chief in the pedigree 200-300 times.

Have a safe, enjoyable coon season, with that good prospect, regardless of breed or color. God Bless.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the kind words. I doubt I will competition hunt her, although it is not because I think she would not be competitive in ANY cast she was hunted in. It is because I don't enjoy the hunts for obvious reasons, and Emma has nothing to prove to me in the coondog dept.

I love good looking hounds. The prettier the better. But, as I have always said, if you think I am not packing a coondog, come any January night, after midnight, on those cold, moonlight, frosty nights and we will go coonhunting.

Hi,

Don Hicks called today and was really excited about his pups. One pup out of Iron Man and one pup out of Iron Man's sister, Spot.

Call Don, 817-521-7402, and ask him how smart his pups are. Ask him if he has ever been around pups like these.

Try an Iron Man pup and you will definitely tell a difference.
Seeing is believing. Not all pups are the same. Some have yard dog smarts. Iron Man definitely stamps his pups.

Pups

Hi,

Boys, don't take my word on these pups. I have listed everyone's phone numbers. Call them. Ask about their pups. I have nothing to hide about these pups. They speak for themselves.

They are the same quality of pup I have raised for 40 years.
They are yard dog smart. You don't have to train them. Put them in the dog box and just take them hunting. They will start on their own. They will have a big mouth. They will be excellent track dogs. They will be solid treedogs. They will be accurate. They will possess an excellent nose. Some will be the absolute best layup dog you have ever owned. They try to please. They are not hard headed. They are a companion dog. You don't beat these dogs. Just talk to them.

Bragging? No, just being honest. Try one. You can pay several hundred $ more for a pup, but I don't think you will get a better pup, jmo. I have spent as much as $1500 for a pup. I raised 3 of them. I gave them the best of care. Hunted them. Very disappointing. I will stick to my old potlicker Finley River dogs.

Midwest Finley River Kennel will probably be using it on Sheba, Trap, Hope, Zippy, or Fame.

Zoom was bred to Becky. Becky was Ziggy's greatgrandmother.

I don't think any will be sold.

Sadie

Hi,

That little dog is full of energy. She just loves to be free. She is definitely in overdrive from the time her little eyes open in the morning. There is a pic of Sadie at the end of this page.

The only time she stops running, is when she slams on the brakes, throws her head in the air and starts winding. Her first night in the woods she was under a coon with Sid.

Neice to uncle cross, like most of my dogs. Half sister to my Dual Gr Ch Wild Bill's April.

Hope to hunt with you one night before season is over. This humidity is killing me.

Finley River Dan X Rambler

Hi,

Old Trap was Finley River Dan linebred. That also made her Finley River Chief, and Finley River Dan 3 line bred.

Can't get a stronger Chief/ Dan /Dan 3 pedigree. I bred her to Lipper. Those dogs wrote their own story.

Now, I am linebreeding Trap through these two strains of Trap. I really like the results and will be standing at public stud, Iron Man and Finley River Jake with my partner, Art Kiger, after the first of the year. They will be UKC Performance Sires. I Super Staked a litter of pups from Iron Man and Snitch this year and can do so in 2017 from the right female. Call 573-819-1531 or 308-325-0375 for info. Art is a hard, knowledgeable hunter.

Don Hicks, Tellar, TX recently bought A female pup out of Iron Man. He also bought a male pup out of Iron Man's sister, Spot.

Contact Don on the message board or call him and talk to him about these Finley River bred pups. Phone 817-521-7402.
