The first ever Sr/youth hunt they had in PA, I almost got shot in the head....just missed by seconds!! I was reading a horse magazine. I has mistakenly plugged in an empty electric tea pot instead of my roaster. When it got hot, it smelled like something burning so I got up to see what was burning...Thank u guardian angel! I only walked about 15' to the kitchen and unplugged the kettle, when I did I heard a pop. Then I plugged the roaster in and the lights blinked. I walked into the dining room and heard shots and about the same time saw a hole in the wall. I had left the cordless phone downstairs so I ran down the steps to call the PSP. On the way down, I could see plaster on the steps. As soon as I got off the phone with the PSP, I got in the car and took off looking for the shooter. I found a guy and his son walking out of the field above and across the rd from r house. The 13 yo boy had shot 7 shots at a running deer, but not towards my house. I came home and the officer was in the house looking for me. He found the first bullet at the bottom of the stairs. He picked it up and laid a pen down in its place. When we got to the top of the stairs, we were looking at the walls...(the bullet went through the outside wall, and also, through 2 walls on the stairs (split entry) and hit a stud in the far wall and fell on the floor) and our terrier beagle pup came up the steps with the pen in her mouth! I asked the officer if he was going to arrest her for tampering with evidence ☺ Then we had to walk through the living room to get to the dining room, I noticed the cover on the recliner where I had been reading was sticking up, when I went to fix it, I could see the bullet went through the top of my chair!!! That's when I FREAKED!!! After the officer left. I found another bullet hole in the basement so he had to come back and ck it out. It was the 13 yo that did it. The case was turned over to the game commission and they confiscated the rifle and did a ballistics test on it.
