Conrad you probably like the Dams side more that the Sires.

Yadkin, Flatrock Coma was responsible for several lines of Walkers we have today. To mention just three of his Sons they are.
Flatrock Thrasher
Wipeout Zeb
Schultz's Stylish Coma

I would rather mirror what has worked in the past, rather than go back and try to get it. As I don't think you ever do.
I think the breeding of Raccoon Valley Queen back to her Son had a big influence on Bone. Raccoon Valley Queen had a big influence on a lot of dogs. To mirror it and have it to work you need the right quality in the dogs you use and that is where the breeder comes into play to make sure that happens. In other words your not breeding to a track dog because you think it is a track dog. You are breeding dogs because they are track dogs. That is the separation you get in breeders. Some doing what they think because it is in their pen and some doing what their minds eye sees, no matter how far they have to go to get it. Now the better your are at breeding what you want the easier you make it on yourself because it will be in your pen. Don't get kennel blind and know when to visit another dog.

Just because a dog is purebred does'nt mean it's well bred and just because a dog's well bred does'nt mean it should be bred . I read that somewhere and thought it made alot of sense .
How many times have you seen where somebody has bred a poor or unproven dog just because of the bloodline ?

Conrad your jumping to conclusions. lol Beautiful, Balanced and Bawl Mouth is my direction. Now my bawl mouth doesn't have to be 100% bawl mouth. The colder the track the more bawl. I don't mind one changing gears and cut it down to a chop when they are looking at it. Now one thing has to be there for me. LOUD. There is also a tenor bawl that I like with my old ears as the deep bawl mouth is harder than one thinks to call.

Beautiful is the last thing I would breed for and a good breeder told me "never to give up an ounce of ability for 5 pounds of looks". Looks are the simplest thing to breed for and can be achieved within 3 generations.

10 pups in this litter born mid july this year and they all looked about identical. I hope the ability is as consistent as the looks.

Bruce, I think maybe you took me wrong or i am not understanding, the jumping to conclusions?
If I were going to breed different strains , I think your on the right track
And by the way those are my kinda pups! Houndy!
And on my slogan you can mix those b's up anywhich way you like, but i aint hunting an ugly dog that sounds like a collie lol

Conrad the outcross is what got me in trouble but it did not show up till their pups so I took one of the out cross and bred her back to her grandpa ( by the way the out cross was a 3 dog way above average in ability) but her pups did not turn out to my expectations but crossed on bone super dogs. So here is my theory ( I know oh boy ) a lot of people don't know lipper was Yadkin River on the bottom through shives gold hill Lou !! Fletcher's jake was out of sacket Jr that's Yadkin River bone is Yadkin River top and bottom that's why it worked what you think for my theory lol!!

That's my point a lot of people don't understand what's back in their dogs pedigree what makes certain crosses click those dogs way back in a dogs pedigree have just as much influence as the present ones. You can have two people that can't read or write create a genius jmo.

Then I will be dreaming about another one.
