Since N.C.'s voter I.D. law got overruled every illegal in the state will be lined up to vote for Hillery. No more aimed at blacks and latino"s than whites. Everybody has to show them to buy cigarettes and alcohol.

Don't think so. They will be lined up for their free handouts. Odd way for a Texan to be thinking. Figured most would want the wall.

Actually, the start was Iowa, which Ted won. I know the eventual outcome of the election, but over inflating truth turns it into a lie. I'll have to hand it to you though, you've obviously watched enough Trump footage to do a pretty good impersonation of him. My only suggestion would be trying to include "believe me" and "huge" in the mix and you'd have it down pat.

This is what makes Trump, and his supporters scary. No matter the facts, they've convinced themselves everybody loves him. When in reality Trump struggled mightly to get the nomination. As is evidenced by him not breaking through until NY voted. Here in Ohio I've not voted in a meaningful primary in years. Not the case this time, Trump was still fighting tooth and nail, when Ohio voted. Which he lost. By the way he didn't lead from the beginning. Which state vote first in the primaries? Iowa. Who won Iowa? Cruz!

I can respect that! At least your objective enough to acknowledge Harvey, and the rest of our concerns.

Have you noticed that Trump never talks about freedom, liberty and the Constitution? He talks about himself and how he's the only one who can fix things here in the USA. That's odd, given that he doesn't seem to know the principles on which American greatness was built. Cruz, on the other hand, always says its the yoke of government that hampers the American people and freedom is what we need to solve our problems, not a tariff, government run healthcare, or the Sumpreme Court dictating to us.

I would encourage those seriously concerned with the Second Amendment (which Trump has worked against most of his life) to consider that Cruz was probably the most influential litigator that helped to win the Heller case (2008). While this was going one, Trump was donating money to gun grabbers like Hillary and Schumer. Trump supporters squawk about business this and that, but it doesn't change the fact Cruz has been a principled defender of freedom his entire adult life. Trump, by contrast, has been buying and selling influence.

If you look at Cruz's Amicus Brief in the Heller case, and then look at Scalia's written decision, it's undeniable that Cruz's arguments convinced the Court. Scalia's words clearly echo Cruz's brief. https://www.tedcruz.org/wp-content/...micus_Brief.pdf

Scalia's decision.

This takes time and thought, but that is what is required of responsible citizens. Otherwise, we're no different than Bummer backers chanting slogans and sticking our hand out.

Socrates said much the same thing four hundred years earlier when he was tried and executed. "But about what would a disagreement be that we could not settle and cause us to be enemies and to fight each other? Perhaps you cannot give an answer offhand, but let me suggest it. Is it not about right and wrong, the noble and disgraceful, the good and bad? Are these not the questions about which you and I and others become enemies? Does this not lead us into conflict if we cannot reach a satisfactory agreement?" Socrates in Plato's "Euthyphro," 7c-d

I agree its a worthy cause! I also agree that because I'm a Christian my conscience will not hardly allow me to vote for Trump.

Talking about Cruz is just pointless at this point.

We get trump or Hilary. I was planning to hold my nose and vote for trump but I don't think I will. I'm voting for Gary Johnson. May be a wasted vote but so what. I'm not voting for Hilary and don't think I can bring myself to vote for trump after the last week or so.

I wouldn't lump all northeast states together. Pennsylvania has 67 counties, only 13 of them voted for Obama last election. Unfortunately the middle can't make up for the big cities on either end.

Even James Carville the notorious hard nosed left winger and lead strategist in the Bill Clinton campaign, said of PA. "On one side you have Pittsburgh. On the other side Philadelphia. In the middle, you have Alabama.""

The last time PA went Republican in a presidential election was I think 1992. So it's a liberal state, but only because of the east and west sides. In the middle out in the country it's a different story. For years PA had the most NRA memberships per capita of any single state. Don't know if it's still that way or not.

I don't know that world GA Dawg speaks of in the country divided thread where he says he don't know his neighbors. I can go several miles any direction and 80% of the houses I could tell you who lives there, married or if their husband or wife has died, likely tell you who their parents are or were, where they work or what they do for a living, and where their kids live.
