Artie, usually I am a day late and a dollar short but it looks like I am finally getting ahead.
I went out and got me a new training aid last night. As soon as they get their eyes open, I will get started on training them to tree. I squeezed some milk out of their mother and laid a "drag" for them last night. They did pretty good but they were a little slow. Maybe when they can get their bellys up off the ground they will be a little faster.

Well, their eyes are open now so I have started. They are 4 weeks old. We are working on short tracks for now. And they don't hunt out very far (from their momma). They are a little slow to get treed and still want to check and mill around a little but they are making progress. We will see how it goes. I just hope that I don't "ruin" them befor their new owners pick them up.

I got a phone call yesterday from the guy that bought this female back in Sept. Her name is Sally. He said that he has been waiting on her to mature enough to take her to the woods and was about ready to "give up" but she finally made it last week. On her first night out in the woods she split with a coon. She just turned 11 mos old. So is she a "natural" or was she trained?
