Oh my goodness, I thought that you only won $5,000. I guess that you would have to be a Pro to know when you were too Pro. And that Pro World Championship pays $25,000. A single cast win can pay $300. And a lot of dogs are "too young" to belong at the World Championship. I can't wait to see how many Redbones even go to the Zones and how many make it through to the Finals. After all, there will only be 100 of the top dogs in the UKC comp world that make it. How many of these Redbones are going to be in that number? Winning your cast at a local RQE is sometimes a long way from traveling to a Zone hunt and winning.

only 3 weeks left to gettum ready for the zones.
don't forget the little things that get you in trouble.
at that level almost every dog in the cast is capable of winning and a lot of times its the little things that make the difference. will he back a dog on a possum? are you sure? mite not hurt to set him up and remind him.
will he go back to the same tree if another dog does?
will he stay in the ground? how is he on fences?
the "little things" list goes on and on and back in the day id lie awake at nite worrying about them.
good luck to all the red dogs this year. lets make it happen.

I'm done doing any correcting on mine, training is over... All I'm doing now is coon hunting him, I personally think to much train short time before a hunt jacks them up but that's just my mind set...

By the way guys we made a good showing at the Greencastle RQE last night. There were 15 cast of dogs and people from all over, there was even several big time $KC dogs and handlers there. I beleive there was only two redbones entered and both won there cast. Fancy placed 4th and Boone placed 6th.
So let's get them Reddogs entered and ready for the world hunt guys!!!

Oh my goodness.....the RQE's are over and Autumn Oaks is behind us. Now it is on to the Zones. There are only 3 more weeks. We have had several early leaders but who is going to be the strong finisher? Who will be the 2015 UKC Redbone World Champion?

Oh my goodness, I looked at the calender wrong. There are only two more weeks left, not this weekend but the next. I had better get my dog in the woods and try to get some of the fat off of him. It looks/sounds like Bruiser and Little Red T are going to be hard to beat.

Maggie is looking pretty inconsistent right now. Hope shes not getting ready to come in heat and she gets her act together before zones. I will be guiding so she would have home field advantage. Doesnt seem to make a difference wheres shes at though as long as theres coons and shes operating like shes supposed to.

So, is anyone going to finally win that $5,000 this year? Only one week left until the Zones. Woody has to be one of the favorites. He showed last year that he knows how to get er done. And then there are Bruiser and Little Red T who have just come off of a couple of big wins. And T has a "Master" handler. Calli also has the experience but she just raised a litter of pups. So who is it going to be?

Still patiently waiting to see how many of these 37 actually were entered in a Zone semi final. The latest is that we will know "by tomorrow".

Well that 37 has now been wittled down to 3. Her are a few things that pop out....

There are two T-Tops and a Pepper, the Missouri Mafia, The Va Cartel and the Branch River Gang all have a dog there.

Kate has 2 offspring there. Is this a new Trend? She had 2 there last year also. I predict that at least one of the Redbones in the finals will trace back to Gr Nt Ch Nighty Night Moonlight Kate from here on out.

All 3 dogs are a conglomeration or outcrosses. Reggie is T-Top, Branch River and Barnyard bred, I think. Boone is Soggy Bottom, T-Top, Nighty Night, Ragged Ridge, Moonlight and Pepper bred. Shine is Pepper, Moonlight, Heads Creek, Royce Taylors and Sandy Creek bred.

So which one is going to win????
Boone is a well rounded, balanced coonhound. He is a second or third strike dog that will get by himself or back another dog if he has to. He is not a super quick kinda dog but does alright. He has a good locate and "settles in" fairly quick. And he has the experience since he went to the Finals last year.

Reggie is a super independant, always by himself fourth strike kind of dog. He also has a big locate and is a one bark tree dog. I have seen Reggie look really good. But his handler has never been to the Big Dance and tends to get a little nervous. Reggie did a nice job at the Zones last year but his handler cost him a win.

I really don't know much about Shine. What type of dog is he? Who will be handling him at the Finals?

So nobody wants to post their favorite? I can't believe that a bunch of Redbone guys are being politically correct. What is the world coming to? Even someone like Professor Joe who used to have no problem voicing his opinion says that he doesn't have a favorite, even though one of the contenders is out of his old dog. Can you guess who my favorite is?
