We have to make a good showing of support or the chances of this hunt ever being in the south again won't be good. The location and facilities are second to none! The people in that area are wonderful! Lots of cheap lodging and great restaurants to eat in. We worked hard to get this event and now it's all up to the southern hunters coming and supporting it. Before anyone says it, yes it will take folks from the northern states support as well. I have visited with several of my friends up north that are coming and expecting a great event.

Make plans in advance folks. This is a great place to take a vacation. Bring your family and have a great time

Having this hunt is the natural place for it, as the south and southwest is where many of the great dogs that were the foundation of our breed hailed from. The big game trail hounds of the Lee Brothers to Elbert Vaughn and the Smokey River dogs of Warren Hausler.
Keep me informed and I will try to make the trip and perhaps shoot video for CARNIVORE.

I guess that moving it around is a good idea but you guys that act like driving 500 miles is a big deal. Heck, I drive over 13 hours one way to go hunting. Take advantage of this cheap gas and make the trip.

This is the largest gathering of bluetick folks and the best fellowship event I've ever been to. The lifetime achievement award ceremony is better than ever and very heart felt. This is also the most competitive bluetick event held. The best of the best will be there!

there are some really nice river bottoms, creek bottoms, flooded duck plantations, super nice lakes in that area. I would bring some boots with chaps. there are some hills around the lakes but nothing big that I have seen. they have a great coon population and always have good scores come out of there.

Mark your callenders! If you like to compete and show what you have compared to the rest of the breed, then here is your chance. There are lots of nice blue hounds at this event. There are also lots of wonderful people ready to visit and share history._

The camping at the fairgrounds is great. If I wasn't pulling my camper I would be staying at the John W Kyle State Park cabins. I have been there twice with great experiences. Lots of room and beautiful scenery. You get the most for your money staying in the cabins. Great experience for a family trip. The cabin we were in had a full kitchen complete with everything to cook whatever you want. Very roomy living area with fireplace couch and chairs. 2 separate bedrooms and 1 bath. Each cabin has an outdoor picnic table and grill. These set right on the lake where your kids can fish or even swim. There is cable TV and phones. The folks there are wonderful and very welcoming.

Does anyone know if there are any cat hunters in this area or what the bobcat population might be. I guess what I am asking is if some of the locals could give me some insight on the chances of trying to put my potlickers on a cat?
