I'm surprised none of you boys from the south said Vienna sausages or potted meat. I thought that was a coonhunters favorite down there? I tried them Vienna sausages. Those things are terrible.

Mustard sardines are my favorite. I like to crumble saltine crackers up in the can after I eat the sardines and eat the gooey crackers out with a spoon.

Well if they still make potted meat I'm going to try some. I'm guessing it's terrible. It has to be a heck of a lot better than Vienna sausages before you will find it in my cabinet. How do you eat it....on a cracker? Just spoon out a glob? Yum. lol

Try this with potted meat , pickle relish and miracle whip mixed together. Spread on bread or crackers . Heck I had more than Vienna sausages in my dog box storage ,, crackers, beef jerky, pepperoni sticks, granola bars ,,lol. Summer hunting I usually always keep a cooler with bottles of water or a few sodas , sometimes I cut chunks of watermelon up put it in big zip lock baggie placed in the ice chest/cooler . If you got hungry or thirsty hunting with me it was your fault , it was there free for the taking .

What is potted meat made out of? And what does "potted" even mean?

Which one of those three delicious sounding brands above do you prefer? You more into tripe or partially defatted cooked beef fatty tissue?

Todd if you don't like the idea of tripe you probly wouldn't like our southern dish menudo ,the Libby's potted meat and Vienna weenies is the best it don't have a lot of taste but I like head cheese just comes from the days were you ate what you had come to think about it I was skinny back then the new the improved potted meat diet I'm gonna be rich !!!!!!

Anybody hear of chocolate gravy? I remember eating chocolate gravy and biscuits. Mamaw made it for us. Good stuff. And..I do like potted meat mixed with jfg mayonnaise until it's kinda thin and put it on bread or crackers. But straight out of the can has saved a many a coon or bear hunter round here lol. Tripe and heart pieces and fatty whatever keep your strength and blood sugar up. Blood pressure too I'm sure lol
