Ritchie is one of the few to get it right here guys.
Everyone has an opinion and you should hunt what you like.
This post was by a gentleman looking for a stud that had been to the hunts.
I spent last year running the PKC hunts. Had a blast.
A winner is a winner anywhere.
I spent the last two years looking for a stud for a special female. Didn't find squat! Coon dogs are harder to find then hens teeth! Not many of them. I know, I know. Everyone has one tied out back. Right.
I have hunted all over the country with every type of blue that is being put in the hunts. Not squat! Me included. I have had a couple but the real ones are rare.
The female I am breeding now is just that. The real deal.
She has won all over. Won more hunts than you can shake two sticks at.
She was the 2014 PKC championship winner, overall Bluetick breed leader, third in her state, qualified for the National Championship two different ways, qualified for the Truck Hunt three different ways. Overall for the month, top four in thirty dollar hunts, the breed champion.
She wins the same no matter what KC hunted in.... Fast, no babbling, trees every coon she comes to. Full open but won't babble. Usually means 3 or 4 strike and 1st tree. With a coon you see.
So I spent a LOT of time looking for a stud.
I am breeding her this week. Good luck finding one to suit you.
Ritchie has run the same hunts and knows what a good one is. So do many others. Not running any dogs down. Just telling how hard it is to find a real coon dog.
To all that say they have one.... Take it to the hunts! Prove it.
