Thanks he trees much harder and stands up on it more but he could here them in the snag got a lil wound up lol. I will prolly have my hands full but the 3 i will be working will make me more than happy with the results. I will get from them. Maw is pretty much retired now so i got plenty of time to work these guys and gal. Ill blow this up with video's when i can work them steady. Looks like the other LE pups are doing great. Some good lookers.

To dang cold to do anything! so i have been working the Le pups on leading and loading and general stuff so its easier when i break them out. Rosco just a lil fine tuning on that stuff and working him on the bench some more.... Praying for decent weather thinking i may have to take some groundhogs out this spring i figured it was to cold for him to come out to even see a shadow lol.

Well the weather looks like it may start cooperating now. And Im hoping Rosco heals up quick he jabbed a stick in the lower part of his neck or at least thats what it looked like it was swollen some so i started him on antibiotics sunday afternoon and cleaned it up looks much better now, the weather is bad enough dont need any other set backs. Hope to get some video of all3 of them this weekend. Rosco will be back in action and Speck and Dixie will be going along to get their start!Had to change the Le x Maw males name to speck UKC dont allow Spook its close in sound hope he lives up to the name.

I put Rosco in another bench show last night got another 25 points on him. Then i went ahead and entered him in the hunt. I planned on pounding him all week but i took him monday night only work and work around the house was to demanding. But i really loved what i seen from him. I have hunted this lil dude solo since about 7months wasnt sure how he woukd act with other dogs well i woukd love to say i won my cast but i screwed up a couple times. He absolutely loved the whole competition surrounding. I think he finished the night off with 3 1st strikes and should of had 2. 1st trees he pulled on one but it was empty and the other i just couldnt hear him. But they better be ready for him next time cause hes gonna be tough to handle. Hes only 10 months old.

Sounded like he did pretty good for his first hunt weather wasn't the greatest either. Get to hunt him consistently I'd say he will be hard to handle

Yeah im hoping this weather comes around. I got a new light and really love it. Its the Sunfire Ultra amber light on it very nice light.Dean took care of me on this hes a great guy to deal with.

Friday night we took Rosco and Thunder and split dump them a few times each and once together. Thunder looked real good seems like we kept dry holeing Rosco lol. We went back out saturday night i took rosco and speck. My son took thunder. Speck ran and treed with rosco 525 yards in 1st trip to the woods very impressive. It was a den and they treed again with the coon looking out. So we are gonna be busy around here for sure. Hopefully we can get some more treed tonight and ill try to get some videos and pics too.

Well we are hard at it weather is finally nice working our young dogs almost every night. Gonna take a lil time for me to get back in hunting shape too. We have a few local hunts we are going to try and hit what we can with Rosco and Thunder. My son ran Thunder in one last weekend didnt do any good though. He was the guide planned on hitting a spot with plenty of coon. But had an older guy in the cast and changed his location so it was flat land. But thats the way it goes either think of yourself and have a better chance to do good or be a nice guy and not do so good lol. Plenty more hunts to come ill keep this thread updated.


I have Speck sold pending pick up. I cant hunt them all and shouldnt have fooled myself but hes not hurt or spoiled and will make a real nice hound. He will already bust a hole in the dark and has treed with Rosco 2 times.

Dixie will be going every other night starting tonight. She is one of the loudest pups i have heard in a long while. She seems very smart and also seems eager to get to the woods.

Dixie is in the works! hasnt had much chance yet but only a matter of time .She will get out of site fairly quick solo and goes out with other dogs pretty decent. Kinda shows sign of liking to be alone. I cant wait to hear her open in the woods this lil girl is LOUD!

We have a few things in the works at Sterling Run Kennels, that will help the breed and our kennel I will update as things progress.

We have bred Demo to Tim Rhoads stud dog Slammer. We have high hopes for this cross and feel it should work really well. I have received a few pms and a couple texts, they are priced reasonable for the working man we are not doing this to make money off the litter we are trying to better the breed! anyone who knows what raising pups cost should see these are a bargain paid up in perf. and ss. then all they gotta do is send in the papers and wont have to pay the extra money. My son plans on keeping one for himself. And whoever else gets one wont be dissapointed! We will start taking deposits on the pups in April.

Speck was suppose to be going to West Virginia , but it didnt work out. I have a couple somewhat local guys interested ill update with whoever gets him.

Dixie, Thunder and Rosco are still being worked hard, I plan on running Rosco in a couple local hunts this weekend.

Has been doing really good since i have been able to hunt him more consistently! I plan to keep working him hard every night and we have a hunt coming up within an hour of us on the 25th of April. i plan to have him ready to put on a show. I have some videos and some audible videos of him i will post later on.

Thunder will also be hitting the hunts again real soon my son has been working him pretty hard as well. He is one of the best tree dogs we have ever had here at our place. When hes throws that big locate its over you can take your time hes not going anywhere, he will just be standing there hugging the tree no jacking jumping or anything like that. its a nice site to walk into.

Dixie is still going a couple nights a week shes getting better everytime and is starting to stay out with the other dogs, Im sure she would already be doing it all alone if i pushed her more but Rosco is looking so good its hard to take away from him right now.

Demo is going a couple nights a week just to keep her in shape for the pups. We have 5 booked and she is starting to swell just a lil so im sure she took. This will be awesome lil hounds for sure.

Mawley is still hanging out at the kennel, But i plan to break her out a couple nights with Rosco just to see how he can handle the pressure. Shes 11 now be 12 in october and will still tree the crap out of them coons. Age sure catches them quicker than we want it too. Shes been the best hound i have ever owned.

The last two times out with sandy were awesome,she got away from our other dog and treed with the coon.the first time took me about 30min.to get to her.the 2nd time. She treed while the other dog was checking in I'm so happy!

Rosco has been pounded pretty good for the past few weeks, i plan to put him in a hunt tonight, although last night he didnt look so hot lol. but they cant be perfect every night, hes still top notch in my book just turned a year old and can consistently tree coons alone and been doing it since 7 months old.

Thunder is still telling all of brown county when he trees , hes a loud hard tree dog! picture perfect on every tree.

Demo is still getting out a couple nights a week but she is starting to show even more now should be some real nice pups. Should be here sometime next month..

Dixie , i have been taking her just about every other night and she hasnt decided to start running and treeing her own coons yet, she is at every tree and goes out alone or with company. This is the loudest female i have ever owned when she decides to flip that switch wont be any guessing whos dog is on the wood or track . Gonna try a few turn loose in the daytime see if it sparks her up.

Mawley she gets hunted about 1 or 2 times a month. her and rosco went the other night he split from her and they both had a coon!

Getting tougher to keep our hounds in the woods with baseball and softball season going on. But im still getting to work the young ones at least 5 nights a week just makes it rough getting up at 4 am with daylight savings time. hoping to hit some more hunts soon. Demo is getting closer swelling up good now.

I just brought home my Hoss x Kelly pup shes a little blue female. Man that whole litter is super sharp. Ill get some pics on here as soon as i can.

Been pushing rosco real hard looking better and better everytime out!

We sold Thunder, and also have either a Le x Mawley female for sale or Hoss x Demo female for sale at this time. They are 11 and 9 months old in that order. I just dont have time for both of them because Rosco is taking all my time and i can mix one in enough to get it started but 2 is impossible.

We have P*C English days coming up at our club at the end of this month come on out it will be a great time. A lot of great members are making some nice improvements on the place look forward to seeing you all there. You can call or text me with any questions.

We also are raffling off a 20 gauge shotgun and the drawing will be June 28th so if you would like some tickets just let me know. You dont have to be present to win.

The Slammer and Demo pups are doing great and she had 12 so ill be dropping the price on them and making a better deal for 2 or more pups.

I have been running him almost every night and it sure has been hot !!!! makes it rough on us but we keep rolling along.

The Slammer and Demo pups are getting big and eating real good and will be ready to go this weekend so if you are wanting a quality ss andf perf paid pup at a great price dont wait to long..

We have been taking our Hoss x Demo pup we have and she isnt afraid of the dark at all whether shes with company or alone.. Need to show her another coon or 2 and she will be getting after them in no time at all. Shes a nice small built female. She will ring them off on a tree also should be a great tree dog.
