I'm not sure which hunts we'll be able to attend this year. With 8 kids left at home and pastoring a church full time we're pretty busy.
We didn't buy Bocephus to push in the hunts or to stud out, we bought him to hunt and that's we've been doing about every night. He's a lot of fun and my boys LOVE him. We just got in from hunting. Bo was split treed every time from the walkers and had his coon. That makes for a fun hunt especially when the bluedog has his coon and the Holsteins are slick :-)
Bocephus is now a Performance Sire for 2014 and is available if anyone has a nice female that they'd like to breed.

I have not heard for sure but his Mom has a great chance of being Breeder of the year last year. Just going off what some folks are telling me.( I am not for sure how it all works. I would be interested in what line of dogs crossed the best with him. We have a gyp thats off Sadie & Boomer that might be aq interesting cross.

I'm not sure which crosses are working best but everyone with a Bocephus pup is more than welcome to get on here and tell the good and the bad.
We just got in from hunting. Bo treed a BIG boar about 300 yards from the truck. I love a hound that actually hunts and trees the first coon he comes to. He's accurate, loud and a hard tree dog that you can tree on his locate EVERYTIME. He doesn't move and he won't be pulled. My boys love him more than any hound we've ever owned and that's saying something.

16 degrees and ice on the ground.....Bocephus treed one about 100 yards from the truck and a second one almost a mile from where we cut him.....by himself. I think we're going to start calling him "TUFF" LOL!

BO is now in Arkansas

Phil Davis has purchased Bo from James Lacey. Phil has hunted and won with the line of dogs that Bo is from for many years. No other Bluetick stud has a pedigree stacked with World placing Blueticks as Bo. Bo is reproducing and will be placed at stud. If you have a female and interested in breeding to Bo contact Phil.

Bocephus

Good luck with him Phil. I have a real nice one here out of him. She makes you want to get her out in the woods.

Scott

PS. Mark V. your PM were full so I could not respond to your message a couple of weeks ago. Hope to have Creek down at the reunion. Will probably be her first hunt.

Father and son

I had a chance to take my young dog and hunt with his dad (Bo). Phil wanted to get father and son treeing togather however the first drop Bo goes left his son goes right. Bo's son slammed one and had it about 330yrds to the right of the road and Bo slammed one on the left side of the road. A storm rolled in and we had to end the hunt. Thanks Phil for the hunt I hope my young dog keeps turning the crank and becomes a superstar like his daddy.

My Bo pup

Kenny, I came and bought a pup out of Sally and Bo back in August. He treed his first coon alone tonight. He's treed a couple turned out coons before this but tonight I was hunting him in the swamp by himself and he did it right. He turns 9 months old tomorrow. Anyone thinking of buying a pup off Sally or Bo or breeding to Bo cant go wrong. They are producing some top notch hounds that have loud mouths, smart and good looks to spare. Made a video with my I-phone that I will post when I figure out how.

Old Bo is a sure 'nuff coon treer and we enjoyed him here at our house.
It just wasn't fair to keep a dog of his caliber at a pleasure hunters house. He needs to be promoted and bred and I'm confident that Mr. Phil Davis will be able to accomplish both of those things.
